Hi, I'm Phila-Mae Arcenal, a TEFL-certified teacher with nearly six years of experience, including three years of online teaching. One of my most rewarding experiences has been tutoring a Korean student since she was seven—now at 13, we cover English and other school subjects. Teaching is my passion, and I love creating engaging lessons that help students grow and succeed. Each interaction is a chance to learn and make a positive impact on my students’ education. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduating with Latin honors in 2017. Building on this foundation, I pursued and completed my Juris Doctor degree in 2022. Liebe/-r Schüler/-in, liebe Eltern. Ich bin Shara und bin 28 Jahre alt. Ich gebe schon seit meinem 16. Lebensjahr Nachhilfe, teils brauchten meine Stufenkameraden etwas Hilfe, teils unterstütze ich Schüler/-innen aus unteren Klassenstufen. Auch jetzt gebe ich noch privat Nachhilfe und freue mich auch jetzt noch über jeden Fortschritt. Ich passe mich immer an den/die Schüler/-in an, egal wie viele Wiederholungen und erneute Erklärungen nötig sind, ich gebe erst Ruhe, wenn mein/e Schüler/-in es wirklich verstanden hat. Französisch war und ist schon immer meine "petit amour" :) Nach dem Abitur habe ich direkt mit meinem Architekturstudium an der RWTH Aachen begonnen.

I teach senior high school mathematics at all levels, from foundational to advanced. With years of experience as a government tax specialist and roles as a system analyst, programmer, and statistician in IT, I transitioned to teaching, which has always been my passion. I began tutoring in college to support my expenses and discovered the rewarding challenge of working with a student with dyscalculia. Through tailored strategies and building strong rapport, she succeeded. My diverse background has made me resourceful and innovative, enhancing my effectiveness in both teaching and problem-solving. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, where I completed challenging courses such as Calculus, Statistical Analysis, Number Theory, and Linear Algebra. I also pursued post-graduate studies in Mathematics Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, focusing on educational strategies and child development, with research on learning disabilities. Although I couldn’t complete my thesis due to budget constraints, I am skilled in teaching all levels of mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and Business Mathematics.
