I am currently a first year university student, studying PPE (politics, philosophy and economics) at the university of York. I successfully achieved straight As and A*s (7,8,9s) at GCSE, which led me to pick history, biology and Spanish at A level. I am particularly unique when it comes to Spanish teaching as I am a native speaker, being half Spanish, and having spoken the language from as little as I can remember.

I am available to take on regular students on Mondays 10am and 4pm and Tuesdays between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Currently not taking on French, ESL or adult students. Availability for trials only if students can continue during the following hours and days:- Monday and Tuesday between 8am and 4pm. I do not work Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. I am passionate about working with children and young people and have done this for over 17 years working in schools, social services and charities. I have worked with children and young people experiencing homelessness, in local authority care, and who are receiving weekly support from different organisations. I have also worked with families whose children are home educated and world schooled. I love nothing more than seeing children and young people's confidence increase as they learn new skills and information. I also have over 17 years experience working with children, young people and adults with learning difficulties/learning disabilities/disabilities/additional needs ranging from ADHD to ASD to global development delay and understand the need to adapt tutoring accordingly dependent on the individual's needs and making them feel as comfortable and at ease as much as possible. I am currently worldschooling my 12 year old son so I could be anywhere in the world as I'm tutoring as we travel. I tutor the following subjects and levels: English (from nursery to year 9) Welsh (from nursery to GCSE), History (from nursery to GCSE), Religious Studies (from nursery to GCSE), French (from nursery to GCSE) All of the above subjects were my favourite subjects in school. Mathematics (primary school age - in English and Welsh; Years 7-9 in English only) Geography (nursery to year 9) Science (primary school age - in English and Welsh, Years 7-9 in English only) The exam boards I can support with are Wjec, AQA and Igcse I am also happy to tutor students who are learning English and Welsh and want to improve their skills with a native speaker. I tutor 11+ and help prepare students for the 11+ exam. I tutor functional skills Level 1 and 2. I can also tutor through the medium of Welsh as I am a native Welsh speaker and completed all my education through the medium of Welsh. I can also tutor English as a second and/or foreign language to children and young people (ESL/EFL) when they are B2 or higher. Due to my professional and academic background in health and social care I am excited about providing tutoring at GCSE level and higher in Health and Social Care also. I enjoy exam preparation work and adapt how I tutor dependent on the needs of the student. A bit about me, I love travelling, spending time with my children and grandchild, learning about other cultures, Netflix binges, reading (I am a huge bookworm) and enjoy keeping fit. I love dance-I am an ex-dancemum as my daughter was a passionate dancer from a young age and I used to own a dance workshop business bringing choreographers from abroad to the UK. I am a very patient, kind and caring person and will try my best to make sure that any student is happy with how I work and if they aren't I will adapt my ways to suit them as they are the ones that need to benefit from it and if something I am doing doesn't work then I will try different ways until they are happy. I am a firm believer in letting children and young people lead the session even if I am working on specific topics but I keep them focused on the task at hand too. If there are available slots showing in evenings I start my lessons on the hour to maximise my available time for other students and would appreciate that if any bookings are made independently that they are booked following this time to be fair to as many students as possible. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all soon! This is my full time role therefore you can be certain that I will not be providing supply tutors due to me being unavailable except for times of sickness and I do try and ensure that any supply tutor is the same one each time to provide consistency.

What is the 11+ exam?
The 11+ exam is an optional exam that is usually taken in the final year of primary school.
Your child will need to take the exam if you want them to attend a grammar school or a selective secondary school. Generally, children who sit the 11+ exam are academically gifted and get above average results.
What does the 11+ exam consist of?
The exam your child will take will depend on the school you are applying for. There are four different courses that can be covered:
When should you start 11+ exam revision?
Most of the course content will have been taught in Key Stage 2. If your child has confidently soared through everything, then a few months of revision and plenty of practice can be enough. If there are any problem areas it’s wise to start at least one year in advance.
What should I revise for the 11+ exam?
Revision strategies are tailored to the different exam courses as follows:
Are there 11+ exam online course books available?
You can order the books online and your tutor can advise you on which are the most appropriate. They can also provide a reading list that helps with the English component and verbal reasoning.
The benefits of an 11+ exam online tutor
An online tutor saves on travel time and there are no geographical limitations, meaning more options when it comes to finding the best fit for your child.
We offer a free trial lesson so you can see for yourself just how beneficial our process is to your child. Once they start, you’ll receive regular updates on their progress.
With the right tutor, your child will enjoy the revision process and will have the best possible chance of achieving a place at their dream school.
How affordable is private 11+ tuition?
The cost of private 11+ tuition can be as low as £21.99. The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?
What levels can my child get tuition for?
We can help your child support with private 11+ tutoring as well as offering tuition for 11 levels. Choose from a whole host of subjects across the spectrum of school levels including 11+. Your child isn't tied into one subject or level with GoStudent. Your child may need support with 11+ at the moment but as these needs change we can also offer tuition across different levels.
How can your child benefit from 11+ tuition?
The main reason that parents often start to look for a 11+ tutor is to improve their child’s academic performance. It’s needless to say that tutoring will prepare your child for important exams and tests and address specific problem areas that they might have in a particular subject. Your child’s grades and understanding of the subject will improve when working with a tutor but there are also other benefits you might consider when deciding whether to opt for private 11+ tutoring. Tutoring encourages self-directed learning. This means that your child will learn to take the initiative in their schoolwork, with the result that they will feel less overwhelmed or frustrated with school and more in control of their own learning. They will also learn study skills that will help them in life when it comes to university and beyond. Whether it’s learning to overcome obstacles in their studies, losing the fear of asking questions or even working on their social skills. Sign up for a free trial lesson to discover the benefits of tutoring for yourself.
