GCSE: Sciences and Maths A-Level : Biology, Chemistry and Maths Exam Board Experience : AQA I am a current associate teacher in science after graduating Lancaster University with a degree in biomedicine, specialising in biogerontology at dissertation level and have experience in a hospital pathology lab. I have tutored for over two years now and in my spare time like to go on hikes in the Lake District I studied my GCSEs in the North-West of England and then went on to study A-level biology, chemistry and maths near the Lake District for a change of teaching style. After my A-levels, I went to study biomedicine at Lancaster University with a current interest in biogerontology and insulin/IGF-like signalling. This interest has led to me being currently in the process of being listed in my supervisor's research as an undergraduate author on the extension of lifespan in Drosophila through reduced IIS in serotonergic neurons. Since 2015, I have worked as both a private tutor and a schoolteacher, teaching predominantly Spanish and English to students of all ages and abilities in person and online. At the age of three, I emigrated from my native Bulgaria to England, where I promptly learned English despite having no prior knowledge of the language. In secondary school, I began studying Spanish, taking to it immediately. Accordingly, I studied Spanish and English literature at GCSE, achieving grades A* and A respectively, and at A-level, achieving grades B and A* respectively. Later that year, I advanced my studies at the University of Reading, obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English literature in 2019. Since graduating, I’ve taught in excess of 1,000 hours of Spanish online to over 70 students, reaching the top of the Spanish tutor ranks on Tutor Hunt and receiving dozens of positive, predominantly five-star reviews from satisfied clients across the continent. Knowing from personal experience how challenging learning a foreign language or mastering the art of essay writing can be, I aim to facilitate the process for my students by tailoring my tuition to their individual needs and providing them with a wealth of resources to aid their learning.
