Hi, I’m Sivapriya, 25 years old, and I have been working on this platform since February 2022. I teach primary level: Mathematics, English (including phonics); secondary level: Mathematics, English, and Science; GCSE level: Computer Science, Biology, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry (all boards); A-Level: Computer Science (all boards). I assist students preparing for SAT and 11+ exams, as well as IELTS, UKVI IELTS, TOEIC, and TOEFL. Experienced in supporting SEN students effectively. I have completed over 3000 sessions, guiding students to consistent improvement and increased confidence. Proficient in programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python, C#, and script languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Additionally, I work as an IELTS trainer for a school in South Carolina. Previously, I taught English to students of all ages at a language school in Japan. With this experience, I am confident in my ability to guide my students towards enhancing their academic achievements. Furthermore, I am a very patient and dedicated teacher, focusing on creating a positive environment to foster the emotional, intellectual, and social growth of the students. I, having acquired the CertTESOL certificate, possess a profound understanding of delivering the target language through context. Besides that, with a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering, I studied math and computer science until my 7th semester, thus gathering extensive knowledge in these areas. Having recently completed a postgraduate diploma course in teacher training in the Montessori method at INTESOL Worldwide, UK, and obtaining a certificate in teaching UK-based synthetic phonics, I specialize in creating engaging and exciting environments for teaching phonics and math. Through real-world applications, children can enjoy learning in a fun and interactive manner. Teaching Methodology: I favour the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method. Firstly, I engage and captivate the class. Next, they study the target language, followed by controlled practice activities. Finally, they engage in free practice activities related to the target language.

Hello! My name is Fatima Ayyaz. I am a dedicated teacher passionate about helping students reach their full potential. With extensive experience across exam boards, I tailor my teaching methods to meet the specific requirements of each curriculum, ensuring my students are well-prepared and confident. I am fluent in English and Urdu, which allows me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. I also have experience managing and teaching students with special educational needs, creating a supportive and adaptive environment for learners who may face unique challenges. My focus is on helping students from primary school through to A-Levels build confidence, develop a love for learning, and achieve academic success. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Forman Christian College (University), a prestigious institution known for its rigorous academic standards and emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills. During my studies, I gained a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and statistical methods. My coursework included subjects such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, development economics, and international trade, which equipped me with the tools to analyze and address complex economic issues. At Forman Christian College, I had the opportunity to work on research projects that involved real-world data analysis, policy evaluation, and economic forecasting. One of my key projects examined the relationship between government fiscal policies and regional economic growth, where I applied econometric models to identify trends and propose actionable recommendations. The university’s focus on interdisciplinary learning also allowed me to develop strong communication and problem-solving skills. I actively participated in student forums, case competitions, and seminars, which enhanced my ability to collaborate with diverse teams and present complex ideas to varied audiences. Graduating from Forman Christian College provided me with not only technical expertise in economics but also the adaptability and critical thinking skills that are essential for success in today’s dynamic professional landscape.

I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

BSc Biomedical Science graduate, currently in medical school. I teach: Junior Certificate science (all levels), Leaving Certificate Biology (all levels), GCSE Biology and AS/A-Level Biology. I am passionate about making science fun, practical and easy to understand. Throughout my career and studies, I've been immersed in the complexities of science, and I understand how daunting it can seem. But I believe that with the right guidance, anyone can grasp it. That's why I'm here - to break down complex topics into simple, understandable concepts, making it accessible and engaging for my students. My teaching strategy is focused on exam-based lessons, helping students practice with marking schemes and key terms to refine their answers and maximise their scores. By working through past paper questions and understanding what examiners look for, my students build confidence in applying their knowledge effectively under exam conditions. I am familiar with several exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, CIE, and many more, and I tailor my lessons to align with each board's specific requirements. A typical lesson with me involves reviewing key topics to ensure a solid understanding of the subject matter. We'll start by discussing the areas where the student feels least confident, addressing any questions or difficulties they have. I then guide them through relevant exam-style questions, focusing on how to structure their answers using marking schemes and key terms. Throughout the lesson, I offer feedback to help improve their exam technique, highlighting common mistakes and strategies for tackling tricky questions. My goal is to make sure students not only grasp the content but also feel more prepared for the types of questions they will face in their exams. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Essex (UK) with a degree in Biomedical Science (BSc), giving me a strong foundation in Life Sciences, including Biology. Prior to that, I took my Leaving Certificate in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (all higher level) in Franciscan College Gormanston, Ireland. For my Junior Certificate, I took science at higher level and achieved an A.
