Friendly and enthusiastic maths and science tutor for GCSE and A level. Currently doing a master's in Astrophysics at the University of York and have 2 years of tutoring experience. Whilst school can follow the same routine each day, I think it is important to make each lesson different and fun whilst learning the content to help students succeed in their subjects. As everyone learns differently I believe it is important to get to know the student as an individual and tailor each session to their requirements to get the most out of a lesson. It is important that students can not only answer exam questions but understand the content, therefore I aim to help students think outside the box and beyond the standard curriculum. I strongly believe this is will help students tackle difficult questions or new concepts in the future. I love athletics and am part of a local running club where I train for hurdles. I have also been playing the violin since I was young and love being part of my university orchestra. I am also learning German as a hobby; languages have always been my passion, and I enjoy learning different languages to communicate with others. I am an effective tutor. I’ve worked with SEN students including students with; dyscalculia, ADHD, dyslexia and autism. Whether you are looking to increase your grade by a little, or a lot I am here to get you to that full potential. I can teach GCSE maths. I work based on the students’ needs and I am very much able to adapt to their preferred learning style. As I am a visual learner myself, I work with students particularly through diagrams, visual aids and in depth examples, drawn on interactive whiteboards as well as analogies to explain concepts required for their curriculum and more importantly, the final exam. Practice exam and past paper questions are key to unlocking the higher grades, and so I always integrate questions throughout the teaching of content during lesson to ensure the student understands and digests what they have learnt properly through application, you will never be short of exam practice in one of my lessons, as that is how the real exam will be like.
