I am a retired teacher who loves teaching. Now I work a four day week tutoring online, helping students understand their course and prepare for the exams. It is encouraging to hear how my students get on and there is a satisfaction in knowing that I have helped them experience exam success. Working Monday to Thursday I have a timetable which I fit my students into. This makes me reliable which is an important factor in choosing a tutor. My sessions are usually early afternoon (2pm on) to early evening (7 or 8pm). To accommodate home schoolers I do offer Wednesday mornings (10am, 11am or 12pm) so if you are studying at home and would like an early session I offer Weds. Problem solving is my favourite aspect of maths whereas Economics interests me as it applies problem solving to the economy and it affects everyone from governments to the consumer. My tutor sessions will begin with a consolidating question from the previous weeks content to check that the student still understands the content. The main part of the lesson will be content and there will be integrated practice questions throughout. I will always end the lessons with a small quiz on the topic covered in the lesson. When tutoring students, I believe the most important thing is to have a creative and innovative approach to enable the students to understand and engage in the lesson. I achieved high GCSE's and A Levels in maths, and I am currently predicted a 1st class honours degree in Accounting and Finance.
