My name is Hafsa and I am a Dental student at the University of Manchester. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Science and Maths has a huge importance in my life, a lot of it to do with my degree but also because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths in A-Levels, and A*A* and a 9 in GCSE, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my English teachers always applauded my excellent english analytical skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didnt understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to meantion all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs. Hello, my name is Silena and let me tell you a bit about myself. I am an extremely ambitious, passionate and an outgoing individual always determined to get involved in new challenges and accept new opportunities. I’m currently in my final year at the University of Liverpool, studying Accounting and Finance, in hopes of achieving a first class degree. I love to get involved in different clubs like for examples I did synchronised swimming for 3 years, placing 5th at nationals, as well as earning gold and silver medals at different competitions. Currently, I am a member of my university cheerleading team, which has been an amazing, new experience allowing me to try something completely different and out of my comfort zone, as it is rather different from synchro as well as dance which I did for 10 years. I also have been trying to start up knitting during lockdown but it’s proven to be harder than I expected; so it’s still a work in progress. I’m also a huge believer in helping the community. I've been volunteering at my local nursing home and hospital for a total of 2 years during sixth form, which was an extremely rewarding experience. Why do I want to be a tutor? In my Chemistry Subject Champion role at sixth form, entailing teaching students the subject, I realised my passion for teaching and guiding others. As a student who experienced similar struggles during my exams and underwent tutoring, l’m able to significantly relate to young students, with regards to the pressures and stresses they experience. Moreover, as a synchronised swimmer for my local club, Hythe Aqua, I had responsibilities to teach the younger swimmers in preparation for national competitions and figure assessments. Despite, the difficulties when teaching younger pupils, due to lack of concentration and consistent interruptions, I developed a sense of patience when managing situations under pressure alongside commanding attention, in turn adapting my communication styles to the specific age groups. As someone who is able to relate to the experiences of balancing 12 subjects and has completing my GCSEs successful signified by achieving mostly A*s and As, I have the expertise to provide the necessary assistance and guidance. It is crucial for students to establish a close and trusting relationship with their tutors in order to feel entirely comfortable and fully engage with the session. I’d describe myself as a friendly, caring individual who is able to provide the support for every student to reach their full potential and achieve success in their studies. Attended Grammar School- passed the 11+ GCSEs All A*s and As English Literature and Language Mathematics Textiles, Biology, French, History, Religious Education, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry and ICT A-Levels Economics Biology Chemistry EPQ University of Liverpool - Accounting and Finance (4th Year)

We home educate our 2 boys and Go Student have really helped us to split our time between them. Whilst our eldest (6) is having his lesson online I can focus my attention on our youngest (5) and ensure that both are getting the one to one time they need but also ensuring that they are both learning and progressing with their education. Our son's tutor Justin Wood is enthusiastic, engaging and patient. He gives our son confidence and time to answer questions and uses resources which incorporate some of our son's interests such as trains and planes. When our son is struggling with an answer, Justin encourages him to have a go and use his 'train brain' to gee him on. Our son finds this hilarious and they make train sounds to help boost our son's enthusiasm which in turn helps him engage and enjoy the lesson. Justin makes the lessons fun and interesting. We've noticed a big change in our son's confidence since he's been learning with Justin and he looks forward to his Maths and English lessons. His spelling and reading has significantly improved and his maths skills are growing by the day. Justin keeps us updated with our son's progress and we talk about areas that we can focus on to help him improve further. Justin is flexible and accommodating and it's lovely to hear our son say how much he enjoys his lessons with him.

English tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
Studying English at school includes technical aspects of the language such as grammar and vocabulary, and English literature focuses on text analysis and creative writing.
English-related skills such as reading and writing are vital throughout school, regardless of the subject matter. Learning how to communicate your thoughts clearly boosts self-confidence, improves vocabulary and leads to better exam results.
GoStudent English tutors offer one-to-one lessons tailored to your child’s needs, helping them understand where their weaknesses are in their written work and working with them to improve their writing style.
The advantages of studying English
English is an essential subject in the national curriculum. All students are required to pass English exams at primary school and English makes up one of the three core GCSE subjects in secondary school.
Studying for an English and Literature A-level or an undergraduate or master's degree can be hugely rewarding. Not only will you learn a great deal about the language, you will also be introduced to radically different ways of understanding and explaining the world.
An English degree can open the door to a wide range of career opportunities in fields such as teaching, editing, journalism and law. There is also a growing market for teaching English as a second language either at home or overseas, where the demand might be higher.
English tuition at primary school
English tuition at primary school is an excellent way to prepare for the future. Studying reading and writing helps with English language skills in general, and learning about different authors and their works may very well ignite a passion for reading in your child, laying the foundation for study at a higher level.
English exam preparation and English revision classes
GCSE exams are the qualifications students take at the age of 16. GCSE English provides a solid foundation for studying humanities courses at a higher level, and skills taught include writing essays, reading comprehension and text analysis.
If your child choose to continue to study English Language and Literature at A-level, it's extremely important for them to achieve a solid GCSE foundation.
English tutors can provide:
Working with an English tutor on a one-to-one basis boosts confidence and passion for the subject, too.
