I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. My students always achieve their goals through hard work, regular tutoring and lots of writing practice! I am currently a part-time Master's student of a TESOL and Education programme in Cardiff and my intention is to lecture this subject in the near future after my PHD. Alongside my own studying, I volunteer at an asylum-seeker charity 4 hours a week teaching adults basic skills such as digital literacy, English communication and life skills. I am also responsible for about 4 young learners who I have taught consistently over the last three-years. Please read some of my lovely pupils' comments about their online tutoring experience with me below: -

Hi, I’m Chelle, an enthusiastic educator on a mission to transform the way students connect with the English language. I believe that every word holds the power to inspire, communicate, and create. My passion lies in helping students unlock this potential by improving their communication skills and developing a lifelong appreciation for literature and language. From untangling the complexities of grammar to guiding students in crafting powerful narratives, I strive to make every lesson engaging, relevant, and impactful. My teaching philosophy is rooted in innovation, creativity, and a deep commitment to meeting students where they are in their learning journey. At the core of my work is a desire to empower students—giving them the tools and confidence to express themselves authentically and tackle life’s challenges with clarity and courage. For me, teaching is not just about education; it’s about inspiring growth, fostering connection, and igniting a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which has equipped me with a solid understanding of human behavior, cognitive processes, and emotional well-being. My academic background has been the foundation for my professional journey in both the fields of guidance counseling and education. As a Guidance Counselor, I had the privilege of supporting students' personal, academic, and social development. I facilitated individual and group counseling sessions, working closely with students to address their challenges and develop strategies for resilience and growth. My role also involved collaborating with parents and teachers to create tailored interventions that promoted the holistic development of each student. I am particularly passionate about fostering mental health awareness and empowering young individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Currently, I apply my skills as an Online ESL Teacher, helping non-native speakers improve their English proficiency. In this role, I develop engaging lesson plans tailored to students' learning needs and goals. I focus on creating a supportive and interactive environment that encourages confidence in speaking, writing, and comprehension. This experience has further enhanced my ability to communicate effectively across cultures, adapt to diverse learning styles, and motivate students to succeed. My dual experience as a counselor and educator has strengthened my commitment to empowering individuals, whether by addressing their emotional and psychological needs or by equipping them with the tools for effective communication.
