I am a Maths Instructor and Data Engineer w. over ten years of teaching experience. Academic Background: - Sussex University - PhD Maths, Hirschfeld Scholar (2019) - Sussex University - 1st Class Honours MMath (2014) I`ve spent the past five years in the data industry working as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, and Data Architect. I perform teaching work alongside my primary work duties inc. mentoring junior technologists, teaching statistics to Data Scientists, and delivering presentations on up and coming technologies. I work closely with related technologies regularly inc. Python and SQL. I focus on sharing deep mathematical insights with my student. This is a skills I refined as a PhD student. I aim to make lessons interactive and goal-oriented. Lessons are delivered in 50 minute batches. They consist of breaking down complex theoretical concepts into simplified components followed by examples and exam problems to solidify understanding of the topic. I focus on encouraging the student to explore the concepts themselves with me prompting them rather than just writing out a formulae. My approach is tailored to each student`s unique learning style and needs, ensuring that they receive the guidance and support necessary to excel in their studies.

Portugal, Scotland and South Africa are currently my bases during the year. Usually travelling, learning, and teaching in these 3 countries. Currently I am recording some Math's videos for a grade 6 textbook used nationwide in S.A. I believe that the best way to learn is to teach, and the best way to teach comes from experience, learning and patience, as well as a bit of interest of course. I am blessed enough to be able to travel and teach wherever I go, all while I expand on my knowledge and help other's expand on theirs. I am dynamic in my vast experience and knowledge - I teach in a way that is personal, yet memorable. I am a very patient, bubbly, yet down-to-earth and compassionate person, which shows in my teaching as well. I am a certified TEFL/TESOL teacher with over 7 years of teaching experience in both formal and informal settings. I am very passionate about teaching and being able to assist the young minds of tomorrow's future achieve the best they can! As a dynamic teacher I use methods that are not entirely by the book - lessons are structured in a way that is meant to feel as if it is natural and not your typical school lesson - it is FUN, yet VALUABLE! I curate lessons and the process of the tutoring according to my student's needs and at their pace. I have many positive long-term relationships with my students and I look forward to creating more, whilst also being the best motivation I can be to help with learning needs.

Hi, and welcome to my profile. For about 4 years now and with 3000+ hours of teaching experience, I have helped several students turn their grades around in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for Gcse and A-Levels. I have an ESL certification (TESOL) which helps me communicate best with non-native speakers. I love traveling, cooking, reading novels, and playing with my cat Nora. Teaching is also something I have come to love as a hobby and very well enjoy.

What are GCSEs?
GCSEs are qualifications that students in the UK achieve at the end of their compulsory education.
A GCSE grade is given to each subject and calculated on written exams, practical exams and coursework.
How important are GCSEs?
GCSEs are a universally recognised qualification in the UK.
Specific GCSE grades may be required when applying for further education. This includes applications for college, sixth form and university, or when applying for a job.
GCSEs can come with a lot of pressure and expectation but your child can achieve the grades that they need with lots of practice as well as guidance from a GCSE tutor.
At what age do you take GCSEs?
Students take their GCSE exams around age 16, in the last months of the academic year at school, although the syllabus is taught between the ages of 14-16 years.
There is now more weight than ever being placed on final exams (instead of coursework), so students must be well equipped to perform on the day.
Which GCSEs are compulsory?
The core subjects for GCSEs are maths, English and science.
Other GCSEs include languages (usually French, German or Spanish), humanities (such as history, geography or religious studies), art (music, art, media, drama) and technical (food technology, design and technology, computer science).
Can GCSEs be re-marked?
If your child is on the cusp of getting the grade that they hoped for or the result simply does not seem fair, the paper in question can be sent back to the exam board for appeal.
Many students appeal exam results when they are one or two marks away from the next grade up. The right study plan and a good understanding of the marking scheme for each exam can help avoid this situation.
If your child has achieved marks close to the grade line in their mock exams, it could be time to get them some help with a GCSE tutor.

GoStudent’s GCSE tutors range from graduates with years of experience in a particular field to undergraduate and graduate students who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge.
Each GCSE tutor must pass a rigorous subject-based test before being considered for a position as well as undergo an ID and enhanced DBS check.
Our friendly customer service team pays careful consideration to any specific needs and requirements that you may have in order to match your child with the most appropriate GCSE tutor.
The subject knowledge and passion of our GCSE tutors allows even the most difficult topics to be turned into fun experiences for students!
How affordable is private GCSE tuition?
