Lower Level: Mathematics and Science GCSE: Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics Exam board Experience: All examboards for GCSE biology and chemistry and Edexcel/ AQA/OCR for GCSE mathematics. Languages: I prefer tutoring in English. Experience: I have tutored both primary and secondary school students previously. Preferred student age group: Any About me: Hi! :) I am Bel and I am currently a research student. My areas of interest are mitochondrial genetics and proteomics, and I hope to complete my PhD. I have signed up as a tutor on GoStudent because I find working as a tutor to be both fulfilling and rewarding. I remember being a stressed GCSE/ A-Level student so it will be easy for me to relate to students currently at that stage. My method for GCSE/ A-Level tutoring involves using mini-tests and looking at past assessments completed by the student to identify areas of weakness, and this will enable us to develop a better understanding of those topics. During the sessions, we will also look through exam questions and examiner reports together to identify and practice the skills required to achieve the top grades. Most importantly, I will work on building the student's confidence in their subject through these tailored sessions so they can reach their full academic potential. As for primary school students, my aim is to encourage the students to learn through educational and fun sessions which incorporate their personal interests to keep them engaged. I am very passionate about maths and the sciences, and I hope I can pass that on to my tutees. My non-academic interests include: archery, painting and embroidery. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! I hope to see you soon! :)

Introduction: Hi! My name is Tania. I study a Law LLM at the University of Warwick. I achieved A*A*AAA at A-Level in English Language & Literature, Law, Sociology and EPQ. I also achieved a 2:1 at my LLB in Law at Warwick too! Despite my results I wasn't always the best with exams. However, I persevered and used a couple tricks up my sleeve to not only memorise content but understand it. I have tutored many students across many age ranges and I can guarentee a high success rate after. Exam Boards: I have experience in both Edexcel & AQA English Lit & Lang GCSE exam boards. However, at A-Level English, I specialise in OCR. For Sociology, I have experience in AQA & for Law A-Level and LLB level. Languages: I can speak Bangla as I am Bengali/Indian. However, I can also understand, but not speak (unfortunately!) Hindi & Urdu. Age Group: My preferred age group to teach is - 12-18. Personal: I enjoy gaming, watching movies & having fun days out with my friends. I love shows like The Office and think as I am a student myself I can really create a good rapport with students.

What are GCSEs?
GCSEs are qualifications that students in the UK achieve at the end of their compulsory education.
A GCSE grade is given to each subject and calculated on written exams, practical exams and coursework.
How important are GCSEs?
GCSEs are a universally recognised qualification in the UK.
Specific GCSE grades may be required when applying for further education. This includes applications for college, sixth form and university, or when applying for a job.
GCSEs can come with a lot of pressure and expectation but your child can achieve the grades that they need with lots of practice as well as guidance from a GCSE tutor.
At what age do you take GCSEs?
Students take their GCSE exams around age 16, in the last months of the academic year at school, although the syllabus is taught between the ages of 14-16 years.
There is now more weight than ever being placed on final exams (instead of coursework), so students must be well equipped to perform on the day.
Which GCSEs are compulsory?
The core subjects for GCSEs are maths, English and science.
Other GCSEs include languages (usually French, German or Spanish), humanities (such as history, geography or religious studies), art (music, art, media, drama) and technical (food technology, design and technology, computer science).
Can GCSEs be re-marked?
If your child is on the cusp of getting the grade that they hoped for or the result simply does not seem fair, the paper in question can be sent back to the exam board for appeal.
Many students appeal exam results when they are one or two marks away from the next grade up. The right study plan and a good understanding of the marking scheme for each exam can help avoid this situation.
If your child has achieved marks close to the grade line in their mock exams, it could be time to get them some help with a GCSE tutor.
GCSE tutoring with GoStudent
Our GCSE tutors help students develop a systematic approach to learning. Unlike in a group setting, your child will be able to progress at their own pace while receiving individualised feedback.
GoStudent’s GCSE tutors range from graduates with years of experience in a particular field to undergraduate and graduate students who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge.
Each GCSE tutor must pass a rigorous subject-based test before being considered for a position as well as undergo an ID and enhanced DBS check.
Our friendly customer service team pays careful consideration to any specific needs and requirements that you may have in order to match your child with the most appropriate GCSE tutor.
The subject knowledge and passion of our GCSE tutors allows even the most difficult topics to be turned into fun experiences for students!
How affordable is private GCSE tuition?
The cost of private GCSE tuition can be as low as £21.99. The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?
