Hello and Welcome. I have been teaching the English language for over ten years now, with a focus on strong vocabulary and pronunciation. I try to adapt my classes to the students' level and requirements. I can focus on reading and writing for example. I have taught hundreds of students from around the world and really enjoy learning about their different cultures. I can also teach Social Sciences, and Spanish. I have a degree in International Development and have also lived in Costa Rica for over 15 years and speak confidently in spanish. My main motivation as a teacher is for a student to reach their best potential in their chosen subject. Hey, my name is Andrea. Currently achieving my Law Degree with an American Legal studies Diploma. I was born in Germany and can speak three languages fluently. These are German, Twi and English. I have been tutoring since I am in secondary school as I believe learning from students is better than asking the teacher for help. I tutor Maths, English and German. I will make you achieve your goal grade by doing fun activities while studying for example Kahoot. I will make you understand and improve your interest studying your problem subject. My availability are shown on my profile but I also accept some short notice lessons if it is really urgent. I offer worksheets as well as being contacted outside lessons. I am a student teacher of Modern Studies (a mix of Politics, Criminology and Sociology), and have taught this at Higher level (A-levels for English schools) in school. I have also taught History and Geography, and I aim to dual-qualify as a History teacher soon. My undergraduate degree is in History and Politics at Stirling University. I have recently finished my PGDE (the additional teaching qualification - PGCE in England) at the University of Glasgow. Prior to this, I have sat the Modern Studies, History, Business studies and RMPS exams at Higher level myself in 2017. Prior to teaching, I worked for elected representatives in both the UK and Scottish Parliaments, and have also worked in Communications for different organisations. Hi there my name is Dan and I am looking to help people when it comes to learning English and History. I am 30 years old and I have a wide breadth of experience from a career that has spanned multiple roles in a variety of sectors from teaching assistant and one-to-one tutoring, all the way to construction and freelance journalism. I want to help people meet their own personal goals and what with English being so ubiquitous, it seems a grasp of at least the basics is an essential part of anyone's toolkit. My teaching style is somewhat informal with a great emphasis on what particularly interests my student because, from my experience, interest cannot be imposed on someone, it must be nurtured and addressed on the individual's terms.

I'm a postgraduate from UCL where my specialism was in Intellectual History. Whilst my primary specialism is history there is a huge amount of overlap with English literature and wider philosophy. Literature can tell us so much about the past and what people valued, and it's a great introduction into critical theory and understanding how academia can approach the world in different ways. I began my undergraduate programme in History at UCL in 2018, where I quickly discovered a love of intellectual history. This field was a perfect synthesis about everything I loved in school about studying literature, history, and philosophy. Having achieved a First in my BA I continued studying, graduating with a Distinction in my MA in January 2024.

Kia ora hey! My name is Haylie and I am a middle distance runner, master's student, actress and student support worker. I am studying an MSc in International Development part-time here at the University of Edinburgh while training and competing, as well as picking up casual hours teaching and supporting students. Moving to Edinburgh has been great fun, but I grew up in LA as a Kiwi-American. I lived in Aotearoa New Zealand for most of my adult life, where I also completed my bachelor's in Education with minors in Politics and TESOL. Hi! I'm Anish and I am a 2nd Year student at UCL studying BSc Economics. I have been tutoring for over a year and have experience in various subjects including Maths up to A Level, Physics, Biology and English. I like to tutor by ensuring students have an intuitive understanding of all the topics in their specification/exam board by ensuring they have the basics firmly grasped. I then like to push and challenge students to higher grades so that they can reach their full potential.
