My passion for education and cross-cultural communication prompted me to transition from a career in law to teaching English Soft Skills and Cross-Cultural Communication overseas. I have taught in-person and online classes in a variety of countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. I specialised in teaching Young Learners, Academic English, Business and General English. I helped students acquire the ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English. I provided academic English instruction to students aiming for success in academic settings, focusing on advanced language skills, essay writing, and academic vocabulary. My experience has made me self-motivated and skilled in teaching students of various proficiency levels. I create personalised lesson plans tailored to each individual's learning goals and areas for improvement. I have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, which served as the foundation for my legal skills. To further my interest in justice, I pursued a Master's degree in law and comparative criminal justice, focusing on immigration and modern slavery concerns. I recently completed a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) course to improve my English language teaching skills. My educational background demonstrates a dedication to both legal knowledge and language instruction.

I have taught at The Grange School – an Independent school situated in Hartford, Cheshire. I was at the school for 23 years of which 16 were Head of Department and have just recently taken early retirement. I have taught 11-18 years old and at A level have experience of all examination boards. I have been leader for the NEA aspect of the course for the last 5 years and have mentored students in topics such as The Angevin Empire, Tudor Rebellions, 17th Century Witch-craze and The American Revolution through to Civil War. I have taught A Level and GCSE every year at school and our results have been excellent. We have had nothing less than a B grade since 2018 and this year gained 5 A* 9A and 4 B grades. Our results at GCSE were 100% Grade 7-9 from 42 students half of which were Grade 9. In relation to tutoring I have extensive experience of online teaching and have mentored students at GCSE and A Level. Our school did online teaching during the whole pandemic and I am proficient in using Zoom, Teams and AdobeConnect. I also mentored students who were looking to study History at University including Oxford and Cambridge of which we have had many successes. I have been a team leader, examiner and moderator of coursework at both GCSE and A level for over 10 years working for AQA, OCR and EdExcel. I have also taught Government and Politics and I am able to offer that as well to a very high level. Availability: Flexible weekdays and weekends during term time and holidays. Testimonials: From a parent of an A Level Parent who gained an A * at A Level. I’m delighted you chose today to ‘connect’. I wanted to write to let you know how pleased we are that Jess was so lucky to be taught and inspired by you. Today is a cherry on top moment but we have always appreciated your teaching. We think her very lucky to have had someone like you, who sought to educate rather than just prepare young people to pass exams. The passion for learning that you shared will stay with Jess forever. Hi Mr Robson, I hope you are enjoying a well earned summer holidays and relishing the new ownership for Newcastle. Great news that Molly got her grades (and a A* in History) to go to LSE (and perhaps just as importantly a year out!). As you can imagine, relief, absolute delight and pure emotion has outpoured! Both Lorna and I have so much to be thankful for in the support, relationship and encouragement you have played in her Grange life. We cant express enough our gratitude for the role you have played not just in history teaching but as someone who has been there for her at all times - simply above and beyond. I know Molly has valued your friendship and guidance and I have no doubt she will keep in contact with you. Best wishes to you and once again thank you. I have been a teacher for the past 23 years after working 16 years in the NHS. In my 30s i decided to go back to school and take my GCSEs which i had neglected first time round. I gained a place at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne after gaining 4 A Levels in the course of a year. Is gained a first class degree in History and followed this up by gaining a PGCE and began teaching in 2000. I have expertise at all levels and have worked with children with Special Educational Needs such as dyslexia, I am an avid Newcastle United fan which has not been easy in the past but is definitely getting better. I am passionate about History and have been lucky enough to indulge that passion. I am a keen reader and love cinema and TV. I have been married for 41 years and have two grown up children and two grandchildren.

About me: Hi! I’m Irene. I have been involved in teaching for 2 years, having previously worked with students age 4-16 as a teaching assistant in the UK and in Spain. My experience has allowed me to develop my confidence in teaching students from KS1 all the way up to A-level. In addition, in my second and final year at University I tutored 1st year Biology students who were struggling with the jump from A-level to undergrad, helping them develop their statistical, critical analysis and exam writing skills. Levels & subjects - Lower level: Biology - GCSE: Biology -A-LEVEL (IB): Biology - Higher level: Biology Exam board experience: - AQA, Edexcel A&B, OCR A&B, WJEC Languages: Spanish- I am bilingual and worked in a Spanish school in Madrid for 1 year. SEND: I have experience working as a SEN TA. I worked with students who had DLD, dyslexia, Autism, anxiety and down syndrome Preferred student group: I am happy to teach from primary up to A-LEVEL. While at school, I was always the kid in class who asked SO many questions because I often found science and maths lessons to be a huge information overload! Thanks to the patience of my teachers and a dedicated tutor I excelled in my science and maths GCSEs and A-Levels which ultimately gave me the confidence to go on and study Biology at the University of Leeds. I strive to give my students the same patience and dedication I received in school to them!

Levels and Subjects: - Year 10 students and up. - GCSE: Maths, Physics, Chemistry - A-Level: Maths, Physics, Further Maths ***I do NOT tutor A-level Chemistry.*** Exam Board experience: - AQA - CAIE (OCR) - Edexcel Languages: - English (full fluency) - Arabic (native) - Turkish (fluent) I absolutely love to learn, and I find fulfilment in it. My favourite way to give back is to teach others, and to spread the knowledge that I gained through learning. This is why I love to tutor. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Aerospace Engineering while working part-time as an engineer. This means I heavily use Maths and Physics in my everyday life, so I clearly understand how central it is to our world today and how valuable it is to master them. I bring this knowledge and experience into my lessons to give my students practical perspectives and real-world insights, helping them not just excel in their grades but also prepare for their futures. Outside of academia, I love to catch up with friends, travel, paint, learn new languages and tinker with electronics and programming.

At A level, I achieved an A* in Maths, Chemistry, and, Biology. Exam Board: I completed all my GCSEs and A levels under the Northern Ireland CCEA exam board (NICCEA i.e. Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment). Experience with: I have experience of the NICCEA and AQE system; at GCSE and A level, and, 11+ level respectively. I have experience tutoring a student for the 11+ exam, who completed the exam and got into his first choice (grammar) school. I have also experience working as a classroom assistant for ages 5-7, teaching them basic maths and money skills; helping them to really grasp the basics. I do not really have a preference with regards to age group or subject. About me: I am a 21 year old, second year Medical student at Trinity College Dublin. I am a football enthusiast; both as a player and a fan, and, also work with 11-13 year olds as a teacher in my church Sunday school. I also play a bit of piano after achieving up to Grade 6, although this is more of a hobby than a real skill in all honesty! I am a logical thinker and good communicator; with a large emphasis on being able to understand the question and the problem and then being able to solve it. For certain age groups, I will be using past paper questions to help build technique in answering common questions and, therefore, a create a strong foundation for more difficult questions. However, it is imperative topics are understood before they are tested so more fundamental teaching will always be put in place before questions. Apart from GCSEs and A levels, I don’t have any other ‘main’ qualifications but I’ve achieved Gold in a UKMT Maths Challenge and also completed the Chemistry Olympiad at A level. I also completed optional Scholarship exams at Trinity College Dublin, and am now a funded Medical Scholar for the rest of my degree. I have also completed the medical entrance exams, achieving 3180 99th percentile in UCAT, and 189 95% percentile in HPAT. I’ve Also completed a 5 week online course on Airway management in Intensive care and emergency situations; tied in very well with my love of Medicine

I have a robust educational background that includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering that I am currently pursuing. Additionally, I am passionate about child psychology and have read extensively on the subject to deepen my understanding of how children learn. This has truly shaped my teaching style which involves alot of interactive discussions and problem solving which in turn leads to increased self confidence and reasoning ability in students. Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of different ages and backgrounds in subjects such as Math, Chemistry, and Biology. This experience has strengthened my teaching skills, especially when it comes to understanding different student learning styles. I have found it fascinating to see how students grasp new concepts when they are related to real-life analogies. I find great joy in teaching, and one of my favorite quotes is by Steve Jobs, who said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do". After university I worked at a secondary school on a graduate scheme with Step Into Teaching, working as a teaching assistant and running the school library. In this role I worked predominantly with KS3 students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, but I love working with KS4 students and building their knowledge in their subjects. In this role I have worked with SEN and ESL students. Shortly after this I went to Malaga, Spain to work as an au pair. While living with a Spanish family it was my repsonsiblity to teach English to two daughters, ages 11 and 14. I then worked as an English tutor in a secondary school through the National Tutoring Programme.
