Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for almost two years now, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the testimonials, (at the bottom of this section), from some of my current parents whose children I am teaching! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over two years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Here is a full list of the subjects I offer depending on the age of your child: Reception-Year 9: Maths (Primary age only), English Language, English Literature, SPaG, Reading, Comprehension, Literacy, History, 11+ (For 11+ I can only offer English and Verbal Reasoning so please keep this in mind.) GCSE: History, (Edexcel and AQA), English Language (including the Speaking and Listening component), English Literature (AQA, OCR or Edexcel), SPaG, Reading skills A Level: English Literature (AQA, OCR and Edexcel), SPaG, Reading skills, Extended Project Qualification with a literature focus. Exam Board Experience: AQA and OCR mostly, with the ability to branch out into Edexcel (for instance, due to overlapping texts and GCSE history) Languages I speak: English SND Experience: Little to no real-life experience, but I have had mentoring from an SND tutor As mentioned at the start of this, here are some written testimonials from some parents of the students I teach. I hope this enables you to see how beneficial I can be for your child's education! Jaydon's, (a year 3 English student), parent says: 'Joshua is a wonderful tutor and has the ability to engage with children in a warm and nurturing way. He is excellent at engaging my somewhat headstrong son and has not only picked up on his strengths, but is encouraging him to build on them which is increasing his confidence. Joshua’s subject knowledge is second to none, but what makes him wonderful tutor has been his ability to get to know my son, understand his way of thinking and adapt a teaching style that brings out his best work. Homework, the reinforcement of topics learnt in session and the positive feedback has really helped to my son progress well in English. My son looks forward to his sessions with Joshua every week.' Archie's, (a recent GCSE student), parent says: 'We couldn’t have asked for a better tutor than Josh. My son was struggling with his GCSE English Literature and after just one session with Josh, he felt so much more confident with the subject. There was a lot to cover but Josh set out carefully planned revision sessions leading up to and during the exams that covered all the topics. So by the time the exams came my son felt able to tackle anything that came up. Josh is incredibly amiable and knowledgeable and put my son at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend Josh to anyone who is looking for an excellent English tutor.' Kimiya's, (an 11+ Verbal Reasoning student), parent says: 'Kimiya has been having lessons with Josh for almost a year. She has improved significantly and is getting better day by day. Kimiya really enjoys the lessons with Josh and is always looking forward to their next lesson. Josh makes the lessons fun and makes sure that Kimiya has understood the subject before ending the lessons. We are very happy and lucky to have him tutoring Kimiya.' So... what are you waiting for! Are you ready to see your child thrive? Let's do this! I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. Below are my other qualifications and their examination boards. If you decide to choose me as the tutor for your child I am more than happy to go into detail about my qualifications at your first session! Please note the examination board of each qualification is in brackets. This does not mean I am not able to teach an alternative exam board for your child. Feel free to address any concerns around this at our first session. I am a third-year Mathematics and Physics student at The University of Manchester. During my school years, I have been looking for experiences that could develop me as a human being and this is how I came across tutoring. My first such opportunity tutoring them in the subjects they had difficulty with by explaining core concepts, which helped me develop patience and adaptability. Working with children was not without its hurdles, but I used all my abilities to stir their interest. What was truly rewarding were their smiles and the strong bond that we created. I cherished every single moment with the children, especially the instant they understood the exercises. My experience attests to my ability to tutor young people in the subject of Mathematics. I want to be a tutor because I feel that through this I can change things, starting with the young generation: I can help them discover a passion for Mathematics, I can cheer them up whenever they need help and I can be their friendly and trustful tutor when they do not know how to solve a problem. At the moment I am teaching GCSE students and I am familiar with most exam boards. My three-year experience helps me assess quickly the level of every student and this leads to a quick lesson plan for a successful exam.

I am a maths/statistics tutor and data engineer with over ten years of teaching experience. Academic background: - Sussex University - PhD Hirschfeld scholar; pass with minor corrections - Sussex University - 1st class honours MMath degree I`ve spent 6 years in industry working in the data tech industry. I apply maths and technical skills to solve data engineering problems, as well as conduct technical training work alongside for work colleagues. I work closely with data engineering technologies like Python and SQL. What to Expect From Lessons: Lessons are delivered in 50 minute batches. They consist of breaking down complex theoretical concepts into simplified components followed by examples and exam problems to solidify understanding of the topic. I encourage the student to explore the concepts themselves with me prompting them rather than just writing out a formulae. I focus on sharing deep mathematical insights with my student. This is a skill I refined as a PhD student. I aim to make lessons interactive and goal-oriented. I combine this with reinforcing their knowledge of theoretical concepts throughout the lesson. Please enquire if you have a topic/subject request not listed here. I have a valid DBS check. Testimonies: "George is very helpful, knowledgeable and makes difficult topics easy to understand. Luckily, I had George to tutor me. His tutoring style was extremely effective, we would discuss beforehand what I wanted to go over, and I would send him any relevant documents from my lectures about things I was not understanding, and he would prepare explanations and worked through examples, and then we would go over similar examples together. We dealt with a wide range of mathematical problems, such as integration by parts, various methods of solving differential equations and comparative static analysis, and all of these topics were handled extremely well and taught excellently. George is punctual and shows a great deal of preparatory work before any lessons, and is then extremely effective at communicating and explaining complicated ideas. He is very knowledgeable and works extremely hard on each lesson. I would highly recommend George for anyone who needs maths help, regardless of the exact subject that you are studying." - University undergraduate, unknown date "Great tutor! Hello! I am a second-year student at the University of Bristol, studying Engineering Maths:) This really gives me a sense of pride, allowing me to see my work and efforts have a real positive impact. Before University, during my A-Levels, I privately tutored many students, across numerous subjects. My students were always so happy and proud of themselves for reaching grades they never thought possible. Aside from my studies, I enjoy drumming, going to the gym and being a part of my university's RAF Air Squadron. In 2021 I completed Renishaw Engineering Work Experience. This gave me Project Management skills, team-building characteristics and other proactive traits. I have devoted 6 years to my time as a member of the Air Cadets and 1 year to my University Air Squadron. This has given me a vast skill set, making me adaptable to various situations. Over the years I have had many jobs to suit my lifestyle. These include being a Resin Caster, Delivery Driver, and Tutor.

We have Charlotte who is absolutely amazing with my daughter. My daughter clicked with Charlotte. I was skeptical with online tutoring but it's the best decision we ever made.

We are very glad with the organization GoStudent is achieving within our needs. They carefully analyzed our child's needs and assigned a very professional teacher, Mr. Beran Tepe within a couple of days. From that day, our child is very happy with the general coaching that his teacher has conducted and the classes he had taken. Our son's grades have increased rapidly and he seems to be enjoying maths more than ever. As his math lover parents this was kind of our dream for years and it is achieved only within a 1-2 months. We strongly recommend GoStudent as a tutoring system and of course we thank Mr. Beran Tepe for his great effort on his profession and with our child.
