Experience with: I have experience of the NICCEA and AQE system; at GCSE and A level, and, 11+ level respectively. I have experience tutoring a student for the 11+ exam, who completed the exam and got into his first choice (grammar) school. I do not really have a preference with regards to age group or subject. About me: I am a 21 year old, second year Medical student at Trinity College Dublin. I am a football enthusiast; both as a player and a fan, and, also work with 11-13 year olds as a teacher in my church Sunday school. I also play a bit of piano after achieving up to Grade 6, although this is more of a hobby than a real skill in all honesty! I am a logical thinker and good communicator; with a large emphasis on being able to understand the question and the problem and then being able to solve it. For certain age groups, I will be using past paper questions to help build technique in answering common questions and, therefore, a create a strong foundation for more difficult questions. However, it is imperative topics are understood before they are tested so more fundamental teaching will always be put in place before questions. Apart from GCSEs and A levels, I don’t have any other ‘main’ qualifications but I’ve achieved Gold in a UKMT Maths Challenge and also completed the Chemistry Olympiad at A level. I also completed optional Scholarship exams at Trinity College Dublin, and am now a funded Medical Scholar for the rest of my degree. I have also completed the medical entrance exams, achieving 3180 99th percentile in UCAT, and 189 95% percentile in HPAT. Hey! My name is Dylan Archer and I'm currently studying Economics, Finance, and Banking at the University of Portsmouth. I play goalkeeper in football and corner in American Football, both at university level with my American football career taking me to two national championships in my first year of playing. I grew up and studied in Derby and took Geography, History, and English Language at A-Level. I think the most important thing in tutoring is the atmosphere between the tutor and student, with a calm environment allowing for learning to take place and the comfort of being able to ask questions. I love studying languages too and over the summer I practiced my Urdu and Punjabi (very basic now) and I currently am studying Arabic through my university.
