As you can probably guess, my future goal is to work with animals and progress throughout my career to eventually become a Veterinary Surgeon. I have three dogs back at home, who I adore! One of my biggest accomplishments is gaining my black belt in karate back in 2020. Some of my best friends graded for their black belts at the same time, it was a great experience for us. As well as this, before the age 18 I managed to climb the UK 3 peaks. I have a lot of experience with online learning because most my A-levels were learnt from behind the screen during lockdown so I know what it's like from the student side of online learning as well. It is because of this that I am eager to help students progress in life to reach their own goals. Increasing a students learning potentials and confidence will be a key factor throughout their life. I have experience working with students struggling with anxiety, dyslexia and ADHD, as well as students who are extremely shy so communication is minimum. I am really looking forward to helping students to learn online. As a qualified teacher I worked in mainstream education for over 40 years teaching Key Stage 3 Science and also Key Stage 4 Combined Science and Separate Sciences to GCSE level as well as key Stage 5 Physics to Advanced level. I have also taught part of the GCSE Maths specification. After retirement I continued to teach as a Supply teacher at Secondary and Primary level. Also over the last year when classes were isolating at home I taught some classes online. I always enjoy the buzz of teaching and the excitement of experiencing students learning and helping them to progress with their lives. My Physics degree was from Bristol University and my MSc from Birmingham University. In my spare time I like to keep up by reading about recent advances in Science and where we are heading. As a teacher I used to run the table tennis and chess teams and would include those activities as my hobbies. I am an engineering university student with a diverse educational background from different countries. Owing to my diverse experience, I am able to teach using varied curricula, adopt different systems, and incorporate appropriate approaches to meet the needs of the students. I am still a student, so I have first-hand experience with what students require from a student's perspective. Although I have around 3 years of experience working as a part-time tutor, both online and physical,  I have been tutoring as a volunteer for about 8 years now.  I have worked with students from different parts of the world of all levels and ages. Aside from teaching as a career, I am passionate about it because I aspire that "learning should be fun." I teach because I love it, because I enjoy it, and because I want to help the student improve in the most amusing way possible. I began my lower-level studies in Tanzania (my home country), where I picked up the British educational system. I later received a scholarship to study abroad as an exchange student, moved to the US to complete part of my high school there, and then returned to Tanzania to finish my A-levels. At this point, starting with the modest volunteer programs I was taking part in in Tanzania, this is when I first learned about teaching. GCSE: Sciences and Maths A-Level : Biology Exam Board Experience : AQA I am a current associate teacher in science studying for my PGCE after graduating Lancaster University with a degree in biomedicine, specialising in biogerontology at dissertation level and have experience in a hospital pathology lab. I have tutored for over 3 years now and in my spare time like to go on hikes in the Lake District I studied my GCSEs in the North-West of England and then went on to study A-level biology, chemistry and maths near the Lake District for a change of teaching style.
