Hi there! I have over 4 years experience tutoring a range of subjects. My specialties are maths, physics, chemistry and Spanish, which I've mostly taught at A-Level and GCSE tiers. I have a BA in mathematics which I studied alongside tutoring, so I can appreciate teaching from both sides of the classroom. Much of my experience revolves around helping students to prepare for exams, and working through past papers together is an invaluable tool for this. I'm also very passionate about my subjects, with STEM I've always had a deep personal interest in how the Universe works, and I've always loved Spain and seeing how the logic in different languages works. I enjoy explaining what I know to others, which puts me in a good position to be a tutor. It's also great to see students progressing over time. My tutoring method is based around giving the student the tools they need and guiding them to solve problems themselves, rather than simply being told the answers. I believe this process helps students to learn how to think critically, and thus become more independent and able to solve problems on their own in the future. Some of my hobbies include hiking with my dog, learning languages and exploring new places! BA in mathematics

Levels and Subjects: Lower Level: Maths, English, French GCSE: English, French A-Level/IB: English, French Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, 11+, WJEC Languages: English (native), French (fluent) SEND Experience: Worked with students with complex needs in a sixth form college, including students with Autism, ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, dyslexia, anxiety, and other sensory needs Preferred age group: GCSE and A-Level, however am happy to work with Primary as well. About me: I'm a recent university graduate trying to find my place in the world. I have worked in a sixth form college where I cultivated my love for teaching and learning, as well as supporting young people in complex situations thorugh their education. I know what it's like to be an outsider; I'm neurodivergent and I lived in France for six months as a part of my degree. I want to help others who feel as though they don't fit in to have success and joy in what they do. I have a ton of hobbies, more than I can really keep up with, including: creative writing, reading, crochet, video gaming, dungeons and dragons, digital art, video editing, singing - and these are just the ones I'm focusing on at the moment! In school I was always an active member of the student voice community, and this continued into university where I was the academic president for Modern Languages and Linguistics and ACIS (for international students). I worked hard to ensure that my colleagues had the support that they needed to succeed. I was also on the committee for the creative writing society, which brought me a lot of joy throughout my time at university. I am looking to eventually get a teaching qualification, as I would love to be able to support learners throughout my life.

Hello! I am a doctoral student in English Literature at the University of Lincoln, having completed my BA at Lincoln in 2019, and having completed my teacher training (PGCE) at the University of Hull. After this, I then began tutoring whilst I completed my MA in English Literature, graduating in 2022. I write both fiction and non-fiction work in my private life, being published online and in print, and I hope that I can share my love of the subject with you. I am also published in media studies and literary theory by a variety of academic publishers, most recently Palgrave, and have several more chapters due for publication in the next 18 months. I teach English, both literature and language, to GCSE and A Level students - primarily within the AQA specification, although I also have familiarity with Edexcel. Though less common, I am also comfortable tutoring undergraduate English Literature. My tutoring is therefore best suited to students aged 11 and up. For those students looking towards their exams, or just wanting to get ahead of the curve, you are in the right place. The best tutors help students achieve their goals and embrace the subject, rather than sticking to a pre-arranged script, so I hope that we can work out the best path for your learning together. I went to secondary school in a small town without a huge track record of academic success, and so I know the kind of circumstances that people might be dealing with in pursuing their education at that level. After completing secondary school, I finished A Levels in English Literature, French, and Physics, before completing my BA in English in 2019. I then completed a PGCE in teaching English at the University of Hull in 2021, and completed an MA in English Literature at the University of Lincoln in 2022. I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Lincoln, studying depictions of psychosis in Gothic Literature.

I have a first-class bachelor’s degree in philosophy and classics from The Open University, where I studied a wide range of topics such as ethics, metaphysics, logic, ancient history, literature, and culture. I am currently studying a Philosophy MA at Birkbeck University. I have always been intellectually driven and have experience in learning efficiently and effectively. My teaching style is enthusiastic, explorative, and attentive. I aim to inspire my students to discover the beauty and relevance of English Literature and Language and to help them develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. I tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of each student, and I provide them with detailed feedback and guidance. I teach English, as well as Philosophy and Ancient Languages, at various levels, from beginners to intermediate and have a strong knowledge of GCSE and A level Syllabi. I believe that learning can be not only intellectually rewarding, but also enjoyable. I use a variety of resources and methods to make my lessons engaging and interactive, such as games, quizzes, videos, podcasts, key texts, and images. I also encourage my students to express their own opinions and perspectives, and to engage in lively discussions with me and with each other. I have been working as a tutor as part of the National Tutoring Scheme for the past year. In that time, I have been consistently praised for my creative, engaging and understanding approach to tuition. I have also completed a Teach First course in a Further Education environment, in which I shadowed experienced teachers, learnt about effective teaching practice, and presented my own lesson to senior educators to rave reviews. If you are looking for a tutor who can help you achieve your academic goals, while also making your learning experience enjoyable and meaningful, then I am the right tutor for you.

Having left secondary school in Scotland with seven Highers and an Advanced Higher only four years ago, as well as having experienced studying online during the pandemic while at university, I understand the challenges facing students right now. I joined GoStudent in May 2023, and since then have been working with students across multiple age groups, from KS2 to GCSE. My teaching background is in youth theatre and drama classroom contexts - I was the assistant tutor for the LAMDA Grades 1-5 at Eden Court Theatre, Inverness from 2017-2020, and the director of Millburn Academy Drama Club from 2017-2020. It was here that I developed my teaching style, which focuses on identifying gaps in students' knowledge and skillsets and facilitating a student-focused approach in which I work with the student to explore the techniques that are right for them. Working with the students at LAMDA involved developing their close reading skills to extract information about character and context from a monologue and exploring effective memorisation techniques for line-learning with each individual student, and this individualised, student-led approach is essential to my teaching. I am particularly skilled in literacy, comprehension, and essay-writing. My drama background informs my tutoring, as I aim to bring some flair to lessons, while balancing fun with learning! I believe in removing all barriers to educational achievement, and have always striven to be fair, kind and open-minded to the young people I teach, seeing students not just as grades, but whole people, and supporting them throughout their education with empathy and compassion. Outside of teaching I'm an avid bookworm, film buff, and baker. Hi there! I am an experienced and empathetic English Literature and Language tutor with over 5 years of experience and many success stories under my belt. I have experience teaching English Literature and English Language for the following levels and exam boards: A-Level— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; GCSE— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; Key Stage 3, as well as the 11+ exams. I'm also very interested in tutoring students at the undergraduate level. I only (fluently) speak English, and I do not have any SEN tutoring experience. My approach to tutoring is student centric, with a focus on developing skills via scaffolding. I encourage participation and employ multimedia learning tools when and where appropriate. Empathy and support are the cornerstones of a good classroom experience, so I am highly patient with all of my students and try to structure my tutoring to build on their schoolwork and complement their existing learning. My proudest moments are when something has 'clicked' for one of my students that they have previously struggled with in class! In my spare time, I (predictably) enjoy reading, walking and listening to podcasts, but I'm also an enthusiastic home cook, amateur forager and volunteer at a local art gallery. I have something of a tech-y side also, and I've been known to tinker with computers and play videogames (usually on the artsier side)! In 2021, I graduated from the English Master's programme at the University of Liverpool with a strong Distinction and a highly commended dissertation. I had also previously completed a BA at UoL, and received As and A*s in my English Literature A-Level and GCSEs. My Master's degree specialised in contemporary and modern literature, but I love Victorian, Renaissance and classic lit too! I'm a bit of a nerd for literary theory and poetry in particular (my MA dissertation even drew on my experience of teaching poetry to young people).

Tutor is bringing out the best in my autistic grandson. As well as the work he learns he is becoming more confident . He now knows he can do things when taught in a way he can understand. He is comfortable enough to communicate if he doesn't and the teacher explains in a different way.
