My name is Syeda Ashfa Batool, I have very recently done my exams so i know the struggles of a hard working student. I want to use my experience and help other students excel in their exams using similar techniques that helped me. I also believe that everyones way of working is different so when we work together we will find what works best for you and help you do well in exams. Having delivered over 275 sessions I believed I have gained experience to work with a range of different students. Maths was one of my favourite subjects at school and even during college, so it is something i am looking forward to teaching most! My preferred age group is students doing their GCSEs or students in high school. Additionally, my age allows me to relate to students more easy and allows me to find common grounds to build a friendly mentor relationship. My journey as an engineering student has been full of exciting opportunities to apply maths and science to real-life projects. This fuels my enthusiasm when I teach, and I love sharing examples from my own work. Recently, I worked with TotalEnergies in France, exploring the valorization of desalination concentrate. One of my favorite projects was producing biodiesel from eggshells, which I showcase when discussing energy in physics. I also had a blast running STEM workshops in Dubai for kids. I'm an active member of AIChE and love participating in physics competitions. I won first prize in "Girls Got It" by building a mini robot with my team and creating a simple pendulum model. I'm passionate about science and STEM, and I strive to show my students how thrilling these subjects can be! My name is Karen, and I'm a dedicated tutor for maths and science. I've been tutoring for four years and hold a Master's degree in Industrial Chemistry and Petrochemical Engineering. I achieved A*/A grades at GCSE in mathematics and physics, and an A in A-Level maths. I've always enjoyed school and hope to share that passion with my students! GCSE: Sciences and Maths A-Level : Biology, Chemistry and Maths Exam Board Experience : AQA I am a current associate teacher in science after graduating Lancaster University with a degree in biomedicine, specialising in biogerontology at dissertation level and have experience in a hospital pathology lab. I have tutored for over two years now and in my spare time like to go on hikes in the Lake District I studied my GCSEs in the North-West of England and then went on to study A-level biology, chemistry and maths near the Lake District for a change of teaching style. After my A-levels, I went to study biomedicine at Lancaster University with a current interest in biogerontology and insulin/IGF-like signalling. This interest has led to me being currently in the process of being listed in my supervisor's research as an undergraduate author on the extension of lifespan in Drosophila through reduced IIS in serotonergic neurons. I am now an associate teacher in science, specialising in biology.

As a tutor, I am able to customise my lessons to best support the needs of my students. I also taught in secondary schools as both cover teacher and teaching assistant, which allowed me to comprehend and adhere to lesson plans in order to support the classroom teacher and individual special needs students with day-to-day instruction and learning. I am an engineering university student with a diverse educational background from different countries. Owing to my diverse experience, I am able to teach using varied curricula, adopt different systems, and incorporate appropriate approaches to meet the needs of the students. I am still a student, so I have first-hand experience with what students require from a student's perspective. Although I have around 3 years of experience working as a part-time tutor, both online and physical,  I have been tutoring as a volunteer for about 8 years now.  I have worked with students from different parts of the world of all levels and ages. Aside from teaching as a career, I am passionate about it because I aspire that "learning should be fun." I teach because I love it, because I enjoy it, and because I want to help the student improve in the most amusing way possible. As the saying goes "if you do what you love, you will do it with passion," and I am here to help the students realize that they love learning. I began my lower-level studies in Tanzania (my home country), where I picked up the British educational system. I later received a scholarship to study abroad as an exchange student, moved to the US to complete part of my high school there, and then returned to Tanzania to finish my A-levels. At this point, starting with the modest volunteer programs I was taking part in in Tanzania, this is when I first learned about teaching. I was awarded another scholarship to Turkey to start my bachelor's in engineering. And this is when I started teaching as a part-time profession, taking it to the next level. During this experience I learnt how to develop different explanations for the same concept on the spot and this has been a very useful skill. I use this experience during my lessons and am able to adapt to individual students quickly. I like to make my lessons interactive and write on an online whiteboard in real time so that the student can actively take notes. I use a stylus to write on an online whiteboard which allows the lessons to be more efficient. I emphasize understanding of a concept during my lessons, a high level of understanding will allow students to apply what they have learnt in their exams. I am currently a Theoretical Physics Student at Royal Holloway University of London and wish to become a Professor of Mathematic Physics. I am very good at simplifying difficult concepts and explaining them in a visual way, it is difficult to get this level of understanding in schools and I well help compensate this. I've captained my school teams in Badminton and Cricket. I also enjoy running and aim to run the London marathon next year so I have to train very hard.
