My name is Pooja Yadav, and I am an enthusiastic teacher specializing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE Mathematics and Science, as well as A-level Chemistry and Mathematics. I have worked with both the Irish and UK curricula and have expertise in preparing students for the 11+ entrance exams for Grammar Schools. I am dedicated to supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN) students and have significant experience teaching learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology and possess over a decade of experience in teaching. Having achieved an A* at A level and a 1st Class degree in Modern History with Economics at A level, I have experience teaching a wide range of history GCSE and A Level topics. The topics I have the most experience is in: Nazi Germany, The Cold War, Medicine through time, Anglo Saxon and Norman England, 20th Century Russia (1894-1924) and Britain during the 17th century (1625-1701); given the wide scope of history modules I study at University, I have a broader understanding of history - especially modern history. In addition to this, I am qualified and able to teach AQA GCSE English Language/Literature - including texts such as the Inspector Calls, Power and Conflict (Poetry), and Macbeth/Romeo and Juliet to a high level given my success at GCSE and A Level for English. As a tutor I would bring an infectious passion to continuous learning and improvement, helping students realise that commitment and hard work can take you far. I am passionate about helping young people get the most out of their education. I will work with you and your child to find common ground, relate their studies to things that interest and engage them, and hopefully be that one to one person who makes things "click" for them. Working within a class suits a lot of children, but isn't always the best approach for everyone. Asking questions is a lot easier when you are in a safe one to one environment. Whether you need someone to sit with your child while they do their homework, work on extra examples to deepen their understanding so they enjoy class time more, or work towards an entrance or 11 plus exam I can help. I have worked in and out of schools since I gained my degree. I am married with a teenage daughter. Outside of work I love being outdoors, walking, gardening and on my paddleboard. I have a first class BaHons in Fashion and Textiles as this was my passion as a teenager and worked for many years as a clothing buyer.
