Hello! I've been a tutor three years now, helping dozens of students. If you are interested, I'd be happy to put you in contact with some of them so that you can chat about anything you're interested. I'll work with you in conversation, which'll brings us intellectually close to each other. This allows empathy to guide the learning process. One of the challenges I often face is answering an insightful question. If I'm not able to do it independently, I focus on relating to you through a simpler concept we are both familiar with. By breaking this concept down into smaller pieces and unveiling our own understanding of it, we enlighten ourselves. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is learning about you. I help with a tough concept or methodology by relating my presentation to how you reckon already known matters. This process will familiarize us with your subject's topics. Whether you're cutting your teeth with tuition or not, you'll be in conversation with me. From our very first class, I'll lead you to explore and become your own coach, so that you can see results after the first two weeks. We don't need to learn by heart most of the things required to pass with flying colors. As your mentor, I pursue with fervor the breaking down of concepts and getting to the bottom of them. Hi there! I have over 4 years experience tutoring a range of subjects. My specialties are maths, physics, chemistry and Spanish, which I've mostly taught at A-Level and GCSE tiers. I have a BA in mathematics which I studied alongside tutoring, so I can appreciate teaching from both sides of the classroom. Much of my experience revolves around helping students to prepare for exams, and working through past papers together is an invaluable tool for this. I'm also very passionate about my subjects, with STEM I've always had a deep personal interest in how the Universe works, and I've always loved Spain and seeing how the logic in different languages works. I enjoy explaining what I know to others, which puts me in a good position to be a tutor. It's also great to see students progressing over time. Hello! My name is Meg and I am a university student currently studying Criminal Justice and Social policy at the University of York. I have been tutoring for around two years both privately and via this platform. I try my best to create engaging and fun lessons that are specifically tailored to a student's needs. I weekly plan lessons, covering material from the previous lesson at the start in order to consolidate and also exploring new material to ensure coverage of the curriculum. Being in university means that not too long ago i was sitting my GCSE's and A levels myself, of which I achieved high grades at both. This means I am able to relate well with the students and it also means I am very familiar with the exam board specifications and mark schemes - something unique to my age bracket. My priority is to enable the student to reach their full potential academically and in their confidence with the subject whilst ensuring the environment is safe, fun and learning is happening at the pace that suits them best.
