Hello! My name is Mara Fasano, I am Italian, and I am passionate about languages. I am very excited to get to know you and study together. Before starting, I want you to learn a little more about me. I graduated from the University of Naples with my Bachelor of Political Science, then went on to earn my Master of Education with an emphasis in International Relations. Tutoring is my life’s passion, and I have been instructing students for more than 8 years. My years of experience as a tutor have helped me form a teaching philosophy that guides how I help my students succeed. In fact, I truly believe that their success begins with making them feel comfortable, welcomed, and understood. Therefore, I always create a friendly and open relationship with my students, and I encourage them to share their questions in an unbiased and open environment. I strive to create a space for them to explore their own learning styles, then I'm there to help develop their interests and guide their absorption of the material. GCSE: History, Italian, Spanish A-Level: Spanish, Italian Exam Experience: DELE, SIELE, Languages: Italian (native level) Spanish (proficient) English (proficient) Preferred student age group: GCSE, A level About me: If I should characterize myself with three words, I would pick enthusiasm, friendly, and commitment. And that’s true about both my personal life and teaching. When I don't work, I swim, cycle, go camping, sail, and practice yoga. Also, I travel quite often for work and personal reasons. Besides, I love photography and literature. On top of that, I volunteer as a Legal Adviser for Care4Calais.

Hi there! I'm English tutor Daniela and I have taught English for more than 10 years. I started teaching English in 2011 when I was still a college student. This was an online teaching job in which I was tasked with assisting the employees of a large oil company with their e-learning course. Later on in 2014, I was offered a teaching position at the university where I had graduated from. I taught English as a second language to more than 5000 students over the course of 5 years. In 2019, I moved to Spain and decided to resume my online teaching career. During these last 3 years, I have taught English to young learners and adults from multiple nationalities and linguistic backgrounds. During all these years, I have met wonderful and smart students from lots of countries across the globe. Each student I have encountered along the way has taught me that learning takes place when you feel safe, comfortable, understood and above all when you are having a great time. The most fundamental aspect I always bear in mind when I teach a lesson is: students do not learn from people who they do not like. Fun memories stick with us. Speaking of fun things, I love learning about philosophy, learning new languages, reading and watching animated as well as sci-fi movies. A language must be seen as something that is alive not as a static set of rules in a book. My intention in every class will show you how language is all about real communication and how context is everything in language learning. There are great habits that effective language learners need to develop and I will share them with you, so that you optimize your learning process. After graduating from high school, I immediately started my bachelor’s degree in the teaching of English as a second language. I graduated from university in 2013 with the bachelor’s thesis: “A professional development program in the public school Hugo Angel Jaramillo through pondering upon content and language integrated learning” and became an English teacher. While I was still carrying out my university studies, I took the TKT course and test. TKT stands for Teaching Knowledge Test and it is offered by the University of Cambridge. The course as well as the test have three modules. Module 1: Language and background to language learning and teaching. Module 2: Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching. Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process. Later on in 2019, I took a 120 hour TESOL certificate course which allowed me to brush up on some teaching basics. In 2020, I started my master’s degree in the teaching of English and Spanish as foreign and/or second languages in the University of Alicante. I graduated in 2021 with the master’s thesis “Implementing an online gamified flipped classroom to address emerging shortcomings in the rapidly evolving EMI field”.

Spanish tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
After Chinese, Spanish is the second-most spoken native language on the planet, and is the official language of 21 countries around the world. It’s also one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
Learning Spanish can give your child an advantage as they enter what is sure to be a competitive global job market in the future.
Learning a new language can be intimidating, but having a Spanish tutor is a great way to boost confidence and make learning enjoyable. The tutor can go over anything your child didn’t understand in class and help them get ahead in their schoolwork, as well as establish study goals to track progress.
Your child can also practice their skills by having conversations, with the tutor able to correct any mistakes they may make as they go along.
The advantages of studying Spanish
Speaking Spanish means you can interact with the more than 500 million people all over the world who have Spanish as their native language, as well as the 450 million people who speak it as a foreign language. It’s also considered easier to learn than many other languages, such as French or Russian.
Jobs related to speaking Spanish include:
Another reason to study Spanish is that it has a long and rich history. Learning Spanish allows your child to study the works of Miguel de Cervantes, important texts written during the Enlightenment and Romantic periods of literature and even great Hispanic music.
At GoStudent, our Spanish tutors have a lot of experience teaching at primary school level. They will work with your child on speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The objective of our primary tutoring programme is to make Spanish fun and foster a lifelong love for the language. Our Spanish tutors work towards academic objectives through interactive games, songs and multimedia tools. They can also include Spanish and Hispanic culture and geography to strengthen learning.
Spanish exam preparation and Spanish revision classes
At GoStudent, we will match your child to a tutor who knows the curriculum well, whether for a GCSE, an A level in England or Wales, a Leaving Cert in Northern Ireland or Ireland or the National 3,4,5 Higher or Advanced Higher in Scotland.
The Spanish tutor can work with your child to determine which aspects of speaking, reading, and writing require the most attention, and devise a strategy to help them improve their skills. They can also help your child prepare for the final exam, reducing any stress so they can perform to the best of their ability.

As well as Spanish, does GoStudent offer private tuition in other subjects?

Your child isn't tied into one subject with GoStudent. Maybe your child needs support with Spanish now but as their needs change we can also offer tuition across different subjects.
How can your child benefit from private Spanish tuition?
The main reason that parents often start to look for a Spanish tutor is to improve their child’s academic performance. It’s needless to say that tutoring will prepare your child for important Spanish exams and tests and address specific problem areas that they might have in a particular subject. Your child’s grades and understanding of Spanish will improve when working with a tutor, but there are other benefits you might consider when deciding whether to opt for private Spanish tutoring. Tutoring encourages self-directed learning. This means that your child will learn to take the initiative in their schoolwork with the result that they will feel less overwhelmed or frustrated with school and more in control of their own learning. They will also learn study skills that will help them in life when it comes to university and beyond. Whether it’s learning to overcome obstacles in their studies, losing the fear of asking questions or even working on their social skills.
