I have a MSc in Chemical Engineering and a BE in Petroleum Engineering. I really enjoy and have a vast experience in tutoring students, and I am fully convinced that students encounter their subjects with me, as they have never before. Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I'm Abbie, a postgrad student in Japanese and Chinese translation. I am passionate about teaching and motivating my students to branch out from topics typical at school. My key aims in all lessons are to make steps towards building students' confidence in the desired subject and building upon academic skills to feel prepared for exams or tests. I strive to ensure my students enjoy each lesson, feel safe in my lesson space and feel comfortable asking and discussing anything about the subject. I plan my lessons to fit each student's style of learning and interests for example studying the history of manga in Japanese lessons or diving into the world of gothic literature in English lessons - there is something for everyone! I can help with exam preparation and practice and provide extra support/materials for personal study. I'm from a very small village near Barcelona, and growing up there gave me the ability to grow up bilingual. I consider myself to be very sociable, and my ultimate favourite thing is to travel and meet new people, I believe that it's the most enriching experience that anyone can have. I am fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English. I attended an extracurricular private English school from a very young age, what made me capable of acquiring an acceptable level of English before moving to England. I've spent the last three years teaching Spanish speakers English, and preparing them for the Cambridge exams. I definitely believe that my experience teaching English to Spanish children and my attendance to an English academy is an absolute game changer, as I know first hand what it takes to try to learn a new language - and let me tell you, it is possible! From the age of 3 I attended a private school in Spain, where Spanish and Catalan were equally spoken. I consider both to be my mother language. From the age of 8 I started attending an English academy as an extracurricular activity. There I was prepared to take the Cambridge English Official Exams. I spent 10 years there, and I'm happy to say that it was the knowledge and experience that I gained there what motivated me to go to university in England. I'm currently studying in London, and I know first hand how learning a new language can completely change your life.

I am an extremely enthusiastic and positive person. I currently teach English early years, Primary school/Reception year. SEND Primary and Highschool and ESL, with over 25 years experience. Patience is my middle name. I am an energetic and a fun teacher. Using a variety of methods including: auditory, visual, reading/writing, verbal and kinaesthetic movement. I also teach English as a Second language and Business English. An achievement of mine was when one of my students won GOLD at the Shanghai Special Olympics.
