About Me: I am a student currently studying Medicine at UCL. I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. My students always achieve their goals through hard work, regular tutoring and lots of writing practice! I am currently a part-time Master's student of a TESOL and Education programme in Cardiff and my intention is to lecture this subject in the near future after my PHD. Alongside my own studying, I volunteer at an asylum-seeker charity 4 hours a week teaching adults basic skills such as digital literacy, English communication and life skills. I am also responsible for about 4 young learners who I have taught consistently over the last three-years. I am TEFL certified and successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in August 2014. With nine years of teaching experience, I am deeply committed to nurturing the academic and personal growth of my students. My approach focuses on creating a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment where students not only gain proficiency in the English language but also develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and confidence. I strive to make each lesson engaging and relevant, tailoring my teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student and inspire a love for learning. I am a medical student with previous experience tutoring 11+ (CEM and GL), core GCSE subjects (+ history) and A-Level Chemistry and Biology. I did my A-levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and Further maths and also opted to do an EPQ. I enjoy working with students of all ages and believe that learning is supposed to be fun. Hence, I like to adapt my teaching methods to ensure that the sessions are tailored to meet the needs of individual students and they feel comfortable asking any questions that arise during teaching sessions. I enjoy playing chess, reading books and watching different series on Netflix during my spare time. I am currently fluent in 3 languages and am learning 2 new languages, one of which is Latin!
