Hi I am Mary Jo and I love teaching! I have been tutoring 6th to 12th graders for many years, as well as adults, both in English and in Spanish. I enjoy the connection that is developed from teaching and sharing lessons, working on project works and exams. The challenge of helping a student realize their full potential, participate actively in the learning process and finally achieve top results, is one of the best experiences for me. Plans tailored to your interests, necessities and goals are important to reach those results. So we can work together to develop topics and activities in order to make this classes interesting and enjoyable. I like watching series, working out, traveling, drawing and playing the guitar. With more than 11 years of experience as a Maths Teacher and being a well-rounded educator, I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students in key stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, thus enhancing my teaching techniques and instructional methods. I currently teach GCSE Maths and also A level Maths and IBDP MAA and MAI at college. I am a very enthusiastic and energetic with a good sense of humor, and I bring these qualities with me to every session I give. I firmly believe that if the teacher is excited and interested, the students will be, too. My hope is to leave my students with a positive impression of education, and to feel they had a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher who brought curiosity and creativity to the educational process. I hold a Master's in Teaching and Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I have been teaching the British Curriculum for more than 11 years. My experiences in education have led me to believe that there are several keys for successful teaching: deep knowledge of the material; high expectations; fostering interaction between teachers and students, honest inspiration and enthusiasm for math; engaging a diversity of learning styles; and dedication to my development as a teacher.
