Hi there! My name is Mayan! I love helping students explore the world of literature and language in fun and creative ways. As an educator, my goal everyday is to have a positive impact on young people and those who feel young at heart. I am particularly drawn to teaching everyday conversation, enhanced pronunciation and syntaxes in linguistics. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel challenged and empowered to reach their full potential. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and enthusiasm and help students succeed. I have over 3 years of teaching experience with tertiary level and in secondary level. During these years, I was able to connect with my students through learner-centered method, collaborative and interactive approach, teaching Introduction to Communication, Literature of the Philippines and the World, Speech Communication, Business Communication, Creative Writing and Developmental Reading. To add, I was also a Content Editor of undergraduate thesis of some of my former students for over 2 years. As it is and has always been my passion doing theatre arts and public speaking, I organized clubs regarding this genre catering to all students. I hold a degree in Communication Arts, Major in Speech and Theater Arts and I took up postgraduate education certification program under Professional Teaching Course in Secondary Education, Major in English; hence, a Licensed Professional Teacher. To further my skills and knowledge, I am also a TEFL certified.

My name is Wessam and I'm a 3rd year dental surgery student. I have always loved learning about science and am keen on sharing my passion with other students. Learning and applying different study methods has allowed me to help my students find the best one to maximise their revision and gain their desired grades. I am currently a 3rd year at the University of Leeds studying Dental Surgery. At A-level, I achieved A*s in Biology and Chemistry and an A in English Literature. I have been tutoring for about 2 years now and have experience teaching different exam boards (e.g. Edexcel, AQA and OCR). I have taught 1-to-1 lessons as well as group lessons (up to 3 students).

Hello, my name is Edden Fernandez. I am 24 years old, and currently teaching English subject in a private school for over a year now. I love to spend time with my friends, and one of my favorite things to do is play pretend school with them. I enjoy helping them learn new things, like spelling words, solving puzzles, or even teaching them songs. I feel happy and proud when I see them understand something because of what I taught them! When I grew up, I dreamt of becoming a teacher because I love sharing what I know and helping others learn. I think teaching is such an important job, and I want to inspire kids to do their best. When I’m not teaching students, I have a lot of hobbies that keep me busy and happy. I love playing table tennis because it’s so exciting and keeps me active. I also enjoy writing stories, especially about fun adventures and inspiring characters. Reading novels is another favorite of mine—I love diving into new worlds and learning from the stories I read. I graduated from Innovative College of Science and Technology in 2023 with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in English, earning my diploma and Latin honor. My academic journey has been deeply enriching, equipping me with both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching skills that align with the demands of modern education. Throughout my years of study, I cultivated a strong passion for teaching the English language, focusing on developing students’ communication skills and critical thinking.

I am currently a student at University of Birmingham, in my second year of a Geography (BA) degree. I am also part of the music team at Radio society. At Sixthform, I completed 3 A Levels - A* Sociology, A Geography, A* Media. I really enjoyed getting stuck into work at Sixthform and developed an effective plan and timetable for revision. I will use this to base my tutoring on - practicing past questions, learning and perfecting what the marker is looking for aswell as flash cards. I have previous experience tutoring year 10s GCSE Geography and got chosen by my head of year to do this. This summer, I worked as an Activity Leader for a Tech Kids Camp teaching kids how to make and use robots!
