Hello! My name is Katie and I’m a third year student at Nottingham Trent University studying Primary Education. I have always enjoyed learning and helping others. I have experience working with children with a range of SEN through my time on placement in primary schools. The desire to become a primary school teacher has been fostered within me by my own educators as I have been told I have a good affinity with children. Whilst on placement I have worked and taught in a range of age groups from reception to year 6. I enjoy teaching each and every one! In my free time I like going for beach walks as I live on the coast and spending time with my family and friends. I also adore travelling and visiting new places and cultures.

I am passionate about helping young people get the most out of their education. I will work with you and your child to find common ground, relate their studies to things that interest and engage them, and hopefully be that one to one person who makes things "click" for them. Working within a class suits a lot of children, but isn't always the best approach for everyone. Asking questions is a lot easier when you are in a safe one to one environment. Whether you need someone to sit with your child while they do their homework, work on extra examples to deepen their understanding so they enjoy class time more, or work towards an entrance or 11 plus exam I can help. I have worked in and out of schools since I gained my degree. I am married with a teenage daughter. Outside of work I love being outdoors, walking, gardening and on my paddleboard.

I am currently an Investment Analyst. I did my degree in Accounting and Finance with a year of studies abroad. I currently have a Master's degree in Finance. I am very enthusiastic about numbers and have spent years volunteering abroad teaching maths and also providing one-to-one maths tutoring in my community and in tutoring centers. I do all I can to tailor the structure of the tutoring to the need of all my students. Alongside providing tutoring to students, I do provide Maths tutoring to adults who require a maths certificate for a given profession. I am familiar and confident with the GCSE maths curriculum and with my strong background in accounting and finance, I am able to support anyone who needs help in understanding the principles and all the modules in Accounting and finance, and also supporting them with coursework and dissertations. I currently work remotely and therefore able to work on Zoom with any student during this pandemic. I am easy to talk to and always endeavor to understand all my students from the onset.
