Hi! I'm Jess, I am a current university student and tutor in Maths and Biology. I have a passion for my subjects and wish to share this with my students. I wish to encourage all my students to reach their full potential and show them what they are truly capable of. I am currently in the second year of my undergraduate degree at university studying classical piano performance. I am a Qualified Teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching Mathematics to students of all levels. My name's Charlotte. In my personal life, you can find me mountain biking, kayaking, camping or generally anything outdoors- I love to challenge myself! I do, however, equally enjoy reading a good book with a cup of hot chocolate. I am a trainee Counselling Psychologist on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology course (ProfDoc). I also have a Masters (MSc) degree in Applied Psychology (Psychological therapies) and a Bachelors (BSc) degree in Psychology. In addition, I am a Support Worker (p/t) in a hospital setting and have over 100 hours of experience working as a trainee counselling psychologist. This has allowed me to feel confident in supporting a wide range of individuals in empowering themselves to overcome difficulties. My academic experience includes writing reports, conducting research and analysing results. I also have practical experience working collaboratively with clients and planning sessions to work towards their identified goals. As a tutor, I feel my skills lend themselves to supporting children and young people with English Language and Literature. I am well versed in planning and structuring an assignment, critically analysing text and context, and presenting complex ideas in a clear, focused way. I am also able to contrast and compare a variety of different writing styles. My focus as a tutor is to provide gentle guidance to encourage students to begin to feel confident in their own skills.
