Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I am a third-year English Literature student at the University of York, where my modules cover an expansive geographical and temporal range from Latin Literature and the Middle Ages, to the Renaissance and 20th Century American Literature. In my A-Levels, I achieved 3x A*s in English Literature, History and Latin. In my GCSEs, I achieved a grade 9 in the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, History, Religious Studies and Computer Science, with an 8 in Chemistry.

I'm Joe and I'm an undergraduate Computer Science student at the University of Birmingham. Along side studying for my degree, I enjoy learning languages, such as Catalan, in the hopes of travelling the world in the future. Likewise, I have a passion for baking (although I don't always get the time) as it's a great way to keep busy and getting some delicious food! I always struggled in school, often being below average at most subjects and not understanding concepts. When I got to GCSE level, my maths teacher made everything so much clearer when she explained things and I quickly began to rise in knowledge. She made me realise how important it is to have someone who is patient and will help you to understand any concept you're struggling with. I have GCSE qualifications in: Maths, Further Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Spanish, and Business Studies.
