Hello, I’m Tom! I have just completed the International Baccalaureate at a United World College. While at the college, I tutored local students and current students in Maths and Geography. Previously, I was an assistant in a Pupil Support English class for a year. I assisted students in various ways, such as helping them to read, write and create stories. I received an award from my school for my work in Pupil Support. I tutored a National 5 pupil in my high school. I co-run a junior creative writing club so I have experience making creative writing engaging. I am the Classics Representative of my university book club, planning and running the weekly sessions. I enjoy reading and writing and have done most of my life. I also enjoy going on nature walks, spending time with friends and family, exploring new places (anything from bookshops to waterfalls to museums), and catching up on TV. I am going into my third year of university, studying English Studies. I received all unconditional offers. I achieved an A in National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English. I have a 120+ hour TEFL qualification which allows me to teach English as a foreign language online, in this country, or abroad. This qualification included 50-hr TEFL, 30-hr Grammar & Language Awareness, 20-hr Video Observation, 10-hr Telephone Teaching and 10-hr Teaching Large Classes Courses. The telephone teaching section of the course covered online teaching such as making lessons engaging.
