She was a fantastic tutor, waiting while I took notes, repeating information to make sure that I understood and answering all of my questions with enthusiasm.

Charlotte D.
Primary: English, Computer Science GCSE: English, Computer Science Exam board exp: AQA/ Edexcel Experience with: KS1/ KS2/ KS3 Preferred student age group: Primary/ GCSE level Hello! My name's Charlotte. In my personal life, you can find me mountain biking, kayaking, camping or generally anything outdoors- I love to challenge myself! I do, however, equally enjoy reading a good book with a cup of hot chocolate. I am a trainee Counselling Psychologist on the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology course (ProfDoc). I also have a Masters (MSc) degree in Applied Psychology (Psychological therapies) and a Bachelors (BSc) degree in Psychology. In addition, I am a Support Worker (p/t) in a hospital setting and have over 100 hours of experience working as a trainee counselling psychologist. This has allowed me to feel confident in supporting a wide range of individuals in empowering themselves to overcome difficulties. My academic experience includes writing reports, conducting research and analysing results. I also have practical experience working collaboratively with clients and planning sessions to work towards their identified goals. As a tutor, I feel my skills lend themselves to supporting children and young people with English Language and Literature. I am well versed in planning and structuring an assignment, critically analysing text and context, and presenting complex ideas in a clear, focused way. I am also able to contrast and compare a variety of different writing styles. My focus as a tutor is to provide gentle guidance to encourage students to begin to feel confident in their own skills. I will work collaboratively with the student/ parent to identify goals and seek feedback on progress in order to achieve the best outcomes.

I am a third-year Mathematics and Physics student at The University of Manchester. During my school years, I have been looking for experiences that could develop me as a human being and this is how I came across tutoring. My first such opportunity tutoring them in the subjects they had difficulty with by explaining core concepts, which helped me develop patience and adaptability. Working with children was not without its hurdles, but I used all my abilities to stir their interest. What was truly rewarding were their smiles and the strong bond that we created. I cherished every single moment with the children, especially the instant they understood the exercises. My experience attests to my ability to tutor young people in the subject of Mathematics. I want to be a tutor because I feel that through this I can change things, starting with the young generation: I can help them discover a passion for Mathematics, I can cheer them up whenever they need help and I can be their friendly and trustful tutor when they do not know how to solve a problem. At the moment I am teaching GCSE students and I am familiar with most exam boards. My three-year experience helps me assess quickly the level of every student and this leads to a quick lesson plan for a successful exam.

Hi! My name is Rad and I study Medicine at the University of Leicester. I love teaching and working with people to tackle problems in creative ways, and simply passing down my knowledge I've accumulated over the years. That's why I've been involved in mentoring since the start of sixth form! I have achieved A*A*A* in my A levels (Biology, Chemistry, Maths) and 9s in my GCSEs for Maths and the Sciences respectively. I hope to meet wonderful students here, and help you understand concepts that seem daunting :) I will be teaching the curriculum, covering the specifications accurately. I have extensive knowledge of the mark schemes and what examiners are looking for, so I will also be helping you improve your exam technique. In a typical lesson, we would go through what difficulties you've been facing and try to tackle them from various angles. This includes breaking down concepts into simpler stages and working our way on top of them. I am a firm believer of having a strong foundation down, so I will make sure that your fundamental concepts are understood well. I have taught a variety of students, including from Year 9 to Year 13.
