Teaching background: I have taught and teach KS2 Maths and English (all levels at Primary school). I am patient with students and allow them to learn at their own pace. I split most of my classes into 40% teaching (explaining the subject), 35% work and 25% going over the answers and areas where the student has struggled with. I generally set homework depending on if the parent requests so. General background: Hello there :-) I am Denise and I am currently a Business Analyst in tech and love problem-solving puzzles, especially Sudoku. I am an experienced maths teacher/ lecturer. Currently, I work in a training centre, prior to this I have worked in a FE college for more than 6 years, teaching GCSE and functional skills maths. I have also taught ESL to adult groups. I have the experience teaching face to face and online using different platforms. I always worked with children with Special Educational needs from different back grounds. In addition, I worked in primary school supporting year 6 learners to build their maths skills to pass their SATs, before that I was teaching Arabic and Tajweed rules age of 5yrs up to adults. I hold GCSE in maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Arabic and biology. In addition, I hold A level in maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Arabic and biology. I also hold BSc Electrical engineering, PTLLS L3 award in education and training and Diploma L3 in teaching and supporting learners.

I am currently studying for my masters in Civil Engineering, I enjoy tutoring and have experience in tutoring both GCSE and A Level students, having acquired high grades in these subjects and levels myself. My goal is to help students understand the methods for each question, instead of simply finding the answer, helping them to continue to succeed when tackling questions of a similar nature within an exam setting.
