At GCSE level, I teach Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. At A level, I teach Mathematics and depending on the topic, Physics. In terms of exam boards, for GCSE, any exam board is good. For A level, preferably CCEA, AQA or Edexcel, but this can be discussed topicwise. I attended St. Colmcilles Primary School for 6 years and 1 year in Holy Family Primary School, before attending Christian Brothers' Grammar School in Omagh. There I did my compulsory GCSEs, as well as Geography, Spanish, Business/Communication Systems and Drama. I then went on to do my A levels there and I studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, gaining an A*AA respectively. I now study Mathematics at Queen's University Belfast.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO SALES MANAGERS! Please message me on WhatsApp - 07778 083581 regarding any trials or regulars. If you don't have WhatsApp then please email me on - shahana.mchy@hotmail.com Tutoring Preference: - Key Stage 2 English and Maths - SATs Preparation - 11+ Exams (Preferably English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning) - NO SEN EXPERIENCE and Won't be taking anymore Secondary Students. I pride myself on my friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a naturally bubbly personality. This enables me to effortlessly connect with students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. I believe that creating a positive rapport not only enhances the learning experience but also encourages open communication and mutual respect. How my Sessions Go: I meticulously plan each tutoring session to ensure an enriching and productive learning experience for my students. Every session kicks off with an engaging starter activity covering a diverse range of topics. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint each student's strengths and areas for improvement effectively. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance understanding. That's why I always come prepared with informative presentations tailored to the topic at hand. These presentations serve as valuable learning tools, providing clarity and depth to the subject matter. Throughout the session, I incorporate a mix of interactive activities. Some tasks involve direct engagement with me, facilitating personalised guidance and feedback. Meanwhile, I also provide independent activities that challenge students to apply their knowledge autonomously. These activities are thoughtfully designed to be both stimulating and educational. As a firm believer in the importance of motivation and engagement, I love to conclude sessions with a fun, educational game. These games not only serve as a rewarding break but also help maintain focus and enthusiasm. By integrating elements of play into learning, I ensure that students remain actively engaged and invested in their progress. Through this structured approach, I aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and excel. I tailor personalised study plans to address your child's individual needs, ensuring they receive the support where they need it most. By creating mini assessments on topics covered, I closely monitor your child's progress and provide detailed reports on their development. Following each session, I promptly send a comprehensive feedback report and supplementary homework within 24 hours. This approach not only reinforces the concepts we've covered but also boosts your child's confidence and knowledge. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a tutor, with a strong foundation in both academic and industry qualifications: - Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce: Completed following my GCSEs, this apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into child development and effective teaching strategies. - Primary Teaching Assistant Experience: Over the past four years, I've honed my skills as a Primary Teaching Assistant, gaining extensive knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of students' learning needs and effective classroom management techniques. - Degree in Digital Marketing: Alongside my work as a Primary Teaching Assistant, I pursued a degree in Digital Marketing, further enhancing my communication and organizational skills. - Tutoring Experience with GoStudent: In April 2022, I joined GoStudent, a leading global ed-tech company, where I've been tutoring Key Stage 2 students in English and Maths. This experience has allowed me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, I have converted 100 trials since I have been with the platform. - Specialisation in 11+ Exam Preparation: In the past year, I've had the privilege of supporting students in preparation for their 11+ exams, witnessing their growth and success first-hand. I'm adept at teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, particularly for exams such as the GL Assessments.

GCSE: At GCSE, I am available to tutor Maths, Chemistry, and, Biology. At GCSE, I achieved 9 A* in; Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Digital technology, English, and, Religious Education. I achieved an A in GCSE German. At A level, I achieved an A* in Maths, Chemistry, and, Biology. Exam Board: I completed all my GCSEs and A levels under the Northern Ireland CCEA exam board (NICCEA i.e. Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment). Experience with: I have experience of the NICCEA and AQE system; at GCSE and A level, and, 11+ level respectively. I have experience tutoring a student for the 11+ exam, who completed the exam and got into his first choice (grammar) school. I have also experience working as a classroom assistant for ages 5-7, teaching them basic maths and money skills; helping them to really grasp the basics. I do not really have a preference with regards to age group or subject. About me: I am a 21 year old, second year Medical student at Trinity College Dublin. I am a football enthusiast; both as a player and a fan, and, also work with 11-13 year olds as a teacher in my church Sunday school. I also play a bit of piano after achieving up to Grade 6, although this is more of a hobby than a real skill in all honesty! I am a logical thinker and good communicator; with a large emphasis on being able to understand the question and the problem and then being able to solve it. For certain age groups, I will be using past paper questions to help build technique in answering common questions and, therefore, a create a strong foundation for more difficult questions. However, it is imperative topics are understood before they are tested so more fundamental teaching will always be put in place before questions. Apart from GCSEs and A levels, I don’t have any other ‘main’ qualifications but I’ve achieved Gold in a UKMT Maths Challenge and also completed the Chemistry Olympiad at A level. I also completed optional Scholarship exams at Trinity College Dublin, and am now a funded Medical Scholar for the rest of my degree. I have also completed the medical entrance exams, achieving 3180 99th percentile in UCAT, and 189 95% percentile in HPAT. I’ve Also completed a 5 week online course on Airway management in Intensive care and emergency situations; tied in very well with my love of Medicine
