Hello! My name is Caroline and I am a native English speaker who grew up in New Zealand. I moved to Germany in 2019 to start my masters degree in performance music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. I have always really enjoyed teaching music and through learning German as a second language, I realised my passion for languages and language teaching. I have been teaching English for a year and I am now working on an online TESOL course for English teaching. My hobbies include sports such as football, tennis and table tennis. I also enjoy origami and learning languages (I am working on a B2 certificate in German). My approach to teaching is to create a positive and interesting learning environment. It is my goal for students to enjoy their lessons so they are more likely to want to keep learning and to want to practice and improve themselves outside of lesson times. Associating positive energy and experiences to learning will be what keeps you motivated longterm. I am of course happy to discuss with students what they are looking to work on and set goals with them for what they want to achieve through these lessons. I think of myself as a very patient and positive person, so I can adapt to the speed/different paces of a student's learning without pressure or stress. I am also very interested in teaching violin/viola/music lessons if anyone is interested in these, as that is a huge passion of mine and is what I have been working on throughout my degrees. I have 3 years of experience with: exam preparation and primary school. I am a recent graduate from The University of Manchester, and I studied Physics (Programme Title: BSc (Hons) Physics). I was a Bronze Medal recipient in the National Physics Olympiad (Romania, 2017). My biggest strength in tutoring is tailoring a lesson according to the student's learning style, as I was trained to recognize and approach all the different types of intelligence.

Preferred student age group: Primary/ GCSE About me: I have just graduated for Durham University with a First Class degree in Geography. At Sixth Form I took the IB where I studied Spanish, biology and geography at a higher level and maths, English and environmental systems and societies at a standard level. All together I achieved 39 IB points. Throughout my studies I have frequently taken part in mentoring schemes, helping me to, not only help other students, but to also further my knowledge in the given subject. After Sixth Form I took a gap year in the hope of travel however COVID prevented me from doing so, so instead I worked in retail whilst reading in preparation for university. I am half Spanish and love to travel; my favourite excursions being the frequent visits to Spain to see my grandparents. My other hobbies include dancing (from the age of 4), going to the gym, crotchet and just generally spending time with my friends and family. University has provided me with a wealth of transferable skills, the most important of which is the ability to learn, teach and communicate remotely. I've discovered that there are numerous advantages to taking online classes, such as the efficiency, flexibility, and variety of lesson styles that can be used. The most important aspect of online teaching is engagement; lessons must be tailored to keep the target audience ’s attention.

I am a 21-year-old Computer science undergraduate at University of Southampton. I have extensive experience in teaching Computer science (A-level/GCSE) and Maths (GCSE). I love to tailor my lessons towards every student’s needs. What to expect from my lessons: -> First lesson is used to identify a students' strengths and weaknesses. -> Lessons are split into theory and exam question segments (sometimes just theory) -> I will teach exam techniques when required
