Hello!! My name is Anvi Sharma and I am a medical student studying at St. George’s University of London. I did 4 A-Levels and achieved 4 A*s in OCR Biology, Chemistry and Economics and AQA History, which are the subjects I am planning on tutoring. I have previous experience in tutoring all of these subjects for A-level for two years. I have also done the UCAT and BMAT admission tests and have scored highly in each. Furthermore, I have completed ABRSM Grade 8 in the Piano and Grade 4 in the Viola. I achieved six 9s and four 8s in my GCSEs, where I achieved 9s in Maths and triple science.

I was born in Norwich, England and completed my schooling in South Africa. I have a passion for teaching and I believe that we are capable of learning so much more when we are enjoying ourselves. I have a clear and easily understood accent and I cannot wait to meet you in the classroom where pronunciation, good grades and fun are the name of the game. I enjoy helping children overcome difficulties with speech and interpretation of the English language. I am qualified to teach English children(TEFL) and adults (CELTA). I have completed more than 7,000 practical lessons or 2,500 hours of teaching students online. I have 5 years worth of informal face-to-face teaching in a SundaySchool classroom. I have 20 years worth of experience training adults in the telecommunications sector. I successfully completed my first year of teachers training in 1979 and had to stop due to ill health.

I am currently studying Actuarial Science at the University of Essex. I am a 2nd year student. I have already obtained a 1st in my first year at university as well as being added to the Deans list for excellence. I studied Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Biology for my A-levels at the Webber independent school, as well as completing 9 GCSE'S at the named school. I enjoy tutoring students Maths and Chemistry as they were my favorite subjects at school and wish to impart my knowledge on to others and to help students find enjoyment in the two subjects

I am patient, friendly and love to support students to help them get the best out of their education and boost their confidence. Below is a list of the subjects and age groups that I tutor. I have experience of exam boards AQA, OCR, WJEC, Eduqas and Edexcel. ENGLISH LANGUAGE I enjoy tutoring English to students in Primary and Secondary school age groups and have plenty of experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level English Language. I have successfully helped many pupils with their SATS tests, 11+, entrance exams, GCSE and A-Level exams. ENGLISH LITERATURE I tutor English Literature up to Higher Level and have plenty of experience of tutoring GCSE English Literature with GoStudent. I've also worked with iGCSE and IB level students. I’d be especially happy to help with 19th century literature at Higher Level, as I studied a Year 3 19th century literature module for my BA (Hons). HISTORY I've tutored pupils studying history at Primary, Secondary and GCSE level. I’m happy to help with social history and Victorian history topics up to A-level, as my specialism is in 19th century socio-economic history. CLASSICAL CIVILISATIONS I am happy to tutor students taking the OCR GCSE and A-Level in Classical Civilisations ART HISTORY I would love to help students of Art History of all age ranges up to Higher Level. I’m a firm believer in the outlook of the Art History in Schools charity that advises teaching Art History from the age of five. Lessons in Art History can help students of other subjects like history, art, architecture, and photography. For those considering going on to learn Art History at University, it is useful to have taster lessons. HUMANITIES Part of my BA (Hons) degree involved studying Humanities modules and I would be happy to tutor students of Humanities up to Higher level. HERITAGE, MUSEUM STUDIES, TOURISM AND TRAVEL Due to my experience with my MA in Heritage Management and working for the National Trust, I am happy to assist anyone studying heritage, tourism and travel courses to Higher Level. My hobbies include creative writing and I enjoy helping other writers, including young adults, by critiquing their creative writing. I have been nominated for a Writing.com Quill Award for being a top reviewer. I write non-fiction about literature and history, for example, my latest book entitled 'Jane Austen’s Easter' and an article in the Brontë Studies journal. I enjoy watercolour painting, baking, sewing and crafting, watching historical and fantasy films, visiting historic sites and gardens, and walking with my dog. I have a lifelong love of learning about literature, history and the arts. I have eight GCSEs: English- A*, English Literature- A*, Psychology- A*,Geography- A*, British Social and Economic History- A, Biology- A, French- A, Mathematics- B. For my A-Levels in Classical Civilisations, English Literature and Art History I gained A* grades. I achieved a First for my BA Hons in Humanities with a specialism in Art History with the Open University, which included taking a 3rd Year module in English Literature. I gained a Distinction for my MA in Heritage Management studied with the University of Birmingham, and was nominated to be the Class Representative for the course. I have been a tutor with GoStudent since 2022. I lecture on literary heritage topics at the University of Chester. I have also given lectures on my historical research at the University of Alberta and the University of Shrewsbury. Working for the National Trust, I interest young people of different ages with history and art history, and mentor work experience students and Duke of Edinburgh students. I volunteer in a local Primary School.
