I am studying towards a BSc in Mathematics, helping my fellows in said subject throughout my prior studies. My hobbies have included PC hardware and the space around it, some years of Aikido and archery, (not forgetting to mention) a delight in reading novels (be they published or in-progress works). I have a CertHE from the University of Warwick towards an Engineering course, and completed my A2s in 2017 (Mathematics/Further Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry). I studied for the FSMQ (Freestanding Mathematics Qualification) alongside GCSEs in 2015, almost achieving 'A's across the board.

A tutor in Maths and Science. I have a passion for understanding and enjoy watching the moment something seems to click for a student. In my free time I enjoy reading fanfiction and listening to podcasts, especially podcasts about philosophy and scepticism.

I am currently studying Computer Science at Newcastle University and have always had a passion for modern languages, namely Spanish which I have studied for 10 years. I studied the language up until A Level and continued with classes into university in the evenings. Whilst in sixth form I gained invaluable tutoring experience with younger students from the adjoining school who were referred to me with the hope of improving their knowledge and understanding of Spanish. I thoroughly enjoy travelling in my spare time and expanding upon my knowledge of the local language wherever I end up.

I am a highly experienced and passionate mathematics tutor with over 20 years of experience. My ultimate goal is to improve student academic performance and make learning real, relevant and rigorous. I ensure that I focus on goal setting and creating benchmarks to ensure students are set up for academic progress. My general approach includes: • Adapting my approach/method to suit the student’s learning style • Incorporating connections to the student’s interests • Teaching to the student’s strengths and minimise the student’s weaknesses • Motivating and inspiring the student to learn • Using numerous past papers to prepare students for the exam and improve their exam technique • Setting homework I have a passion for mathematics and as a result chose to study 4 related A-levels; Maths, Pure Maths, Further Maths and Applied Maths. I also obtained an A-level in Physics. I continued my education at university completing an Undergraduate BSc Honours and Postgraduate degrees in Civil Engineering. I am very enthusiastic about teaching mathematics, and I have taught a variety of students across many ages and abilities for over 20 years. I find tutoring very rewarding as it enables me to inspire students to improve and achieve their goals.
