Having a younger sister I began tutoring by aiding her with her primary school homework. I now love tutoring, helping students Conquer their academic Goals! Hi Shaun here, I am a Grammar school student and having done the 11+ myself find comfortable in tutoring students taking the 11+ in addition to those in Years 7-11, as my main strengths are in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I did take Biology and Chemistry for my A levels and have achieved A grades in all these subjects. I am currently a medical undergraduate student working towards my Medical Degree. I was a Grammar School student having completed my GCSEs and A-Levels before I moved on to University. I am currently a Medical undergraduate student. For my GCSEs I achieved grade 9 in Math, Biology and Physics, grade 8 in Geography and Chemistry and grade 7 in both English literature, language, History and Spanish. For my A-Levels I achieved grade A for Biology and Chemistry. Towards my university admission process for medicine I took the UCAT test having achieved a score of 3060 placing me in the top 3% of UCAT test takers in the country for that year.

My name is Hayden, and I am a current student at the University of Lincoln, I am studying for a BA in Accounting and Finance. I am passionate about this subject as my 2 favourite subjects at GCSE and A-level were Maths and Economics and my course is a perfect combination of both. Problem solving is my favourite aspect of maths whereas Economics interests me as it applies problem solving to the economy and it affects everyone from governments to the consumer. My favourite hobby is travelling and experiencing different cultures. There is so much to learn and experience from visiting different countries and people. Travelling feels rewarding and expands your knowledge and appreciation. My tutor sessions will begin with a consolidating question from the previous weeks content to check that the student still understands the content. The main part of the lesson will be content and there will be integrated practice questions throughout. I will always end the lessons with a small quiz on the topic covered in the lesson. The results will determine next week’s lesson based on the students understanding. When tutoring students, I believe the most important thing is to have a creative and innovative approach to enable the students to understand and engage in the lesson. I achieved high GCSE's and A Levels in maths, and I am currently predicted a 1st class honours degree in Accounting and Finance. I have been tutoring for the past 2 years and really enjoy the rewarding feeling of helping students achieve their goals. I can help students build their confidence and knowledge in maths, and help them with revision and exam techniques. My aim is to make the lesson as beneficial as possible for the student and each students lesson is tailored to their preferences and abilities.

One of my favourite things to do is helping people learn. And not just forcefully learning and memorising, but learning in a way they understand. Learning in a way easiest and least challenging for them as an individual. I love teaching Maths because I think it’s amazing how there are so many different ways to get to the correct answer. So even if you might not understand how one way works, that’s absolutely okay because that’s not the only way to the answer. Whichever way works for you in understanding how to get to the answer, is the way we’ll figure out and work with together. And once we do it together, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to do it independently. That being said, I also love Biology and Chemistry because science is also great. And believe it or not, but the answers are usually easier to find than you’d think. Whether you're wanting to excel and get the top grade, or wanting to pass a subject you're not really in love with, I think everyone has the potential to achieve what they want and continue to advance forward in life. Including you. Whether you believe it or not, you have the potential and ability to succeed. Even if you might need a little help or nudge in seeing that ability, that’s absolutely fine – and I would love to be that person to help give you that encouragement in seeing your potential.
