Hi! I'm Pia. The subject I teach is Mathematics at primary school level to GCSE level and also GCSE and A-level Biology. I understand that maths and biology can present difficult challenges and having received tutoring for both subjects, it has really helped me to understand and enjoy the subjects a lot. I hope to be able to help other students develop their confidence and learn to enjoy maths and biology too! I completed 9 GCSEs, including an A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and also completed my A-levels with an A in Maths and Biology and B in Chemistry. I am currently studying Biomedical Science at the University of Birmingham. Even though I am not studying a mathematical course at university, maths has always been my favourite subject throughout school. I used to really struggle with exams and tutoring helped me to achieve the best grades I could get. My goal is not only to help students understand maths and biology so that they can also excel in their exams but also to make it fun and approachable!

I can teach Geography at GCSE level or below (preferably below) I am most familiar with Edexcel and AQA exam boards I have experience with the whole English schooling system I only speak fluent English About me: I am a sociable, passionate, and determined person who thrives when interacting with other like-minded people. I am an undergraduate student in my second year at Bournemouth University, studying Geography. My hobbies are photography, nature, and football. Skills gained from my past experiences, both in the workplace and out of it, will enable me to communicate with my tutees, colleagues, and parents. I attained all of my taken GCSE's and A-Levels In my GCSE's I obtained a 6 or higher in English, Maths. Geography and Physics. In my A-Levels, I obtained a C or higher in Government and Politics and Geography. Outside of education, i participated in Scouts for 11 years which provided me with many life skills which I use in most experiences.

I am available to take on regular students on Mondays 10am and 4pm and Tuesdays between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Currently not taking on French, ESL or adult students. Availability for trials only if students can continue during the following hours and days:- Monday and Tuesday between 8am and 4pm. I do not work Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. I am passionate about working with children and young people and have done this for over 17 years working in schools, social services and charities. I have worked with children and young people experiencing homelessness, in local authority care, and who are receiving weekly support from different organisations. I have also worked with families whose children are home educated and world schooled. I love nothing more than seeing children and young people's confidence increase as they learn new skills and information. I also have over 17 years experience working with children, young people and adults with learning difficulties/learning disabilities/disabilities/additional needs ranging from ADHD to ASD to global development delay and understand the need to adapt tutoring accordingly dependent on the individual's needs and making them feel as comfortable and at ease as much as possible. I am currently worldschooling my 12 year old son so I could be anywhere in the world as I'm tutoring as we travel. I tutor the following subjects and levels: English (from nursery to year 9) Welsh (from nursery to GCSE), History (from nursery to GCSE), Religious Studies (from nursery to GCSE), French (from nursery to GCSE) All of the above subjects were my favourite subjects in school. Mathematics (primary school age - in English and Welsh; Years 7-9 in English only) Geography (nursery to year 9) Science (primary school age - in English and Welsh, Years 7-9 in English only) The exam boards I can support with are Wjec, AQA and Igcse I am also happy to tutor students who are learning English and Welsh and want to improve their skills with a native speaker. I tutor 11+ and help prepare students for the 11+ exam. I tutor functional skills Level 1 and 2. I can also tutor through the medium of Welsh as I am a native Welsh speaker and completed all my education through the medium of Welsh. I can also tutor English as a second and/or foreign language to children and young people (ESL/EFL) when they are B2 or higher. Due to my professional and academic background in health and social care I am excited about providing tutoring at GCSE level and higher in Health and Social Care also. I enjoy exam preparation work and adapt how I tutor dependent on the needs of the student. A bit about me, I love travelling, spending time with my children and grandchild, learning about other cultures, Netflix binges, reading (I am a huge bookworm) and enjoy keeping fit. I love dance-I am an ex-dancemum as my daughter was a passionate dancer from a young age and I used to own a dance workshop business bringing choreographers from abroad to the UK. I am a very patient, kind and caring person and will try my best to make sure that any student is happy with how I work and if they aren't I will adapt my ways to suit them as they are the ones that need to benefit from it and if something I am doing doesn't work then I will try different ways until they are happy. I am a firm believer in letting children and young people lead the session even if I am working on specific topics but I keep them focused on the task at hand too. If there are available slots showing in evenings I start my lessons on the hour to maximise my available time for other students and would appreciate that if any bookings are made independently that they are booked following this time to be fair to as many students as possible. This is my full time role therefore you can be certain that I will not be providing supply tutors due to me being unavailable except for times of sickness and I do try and ensure that any supply tutor is the same one each time to provide consistency. I have a BA(Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies and the degree covered a wide range of topics such as Health and social care, child development, childhood around the world, children's literature, working with children and young people. I have a Certificate in Health and Social Care and a Diploma in Higher Education too in a number of topics related to children, young people and families. I have also continued to learn about a wide variety of things such as social policy, safeguarding, national curriculum and various other topics due to my career. I am currently completing a Diploma in Digital Marketing and my TEFL Certification to compliment my work which I already do with tutoring English as an additional / foreign language. Once I have completed my TEFL certification I will be starting a Masters in Online Teaching to further enhance my skills and knowledge in this field of work to ensure I offer the best possible service I can to my students.
