I like to make my lessons understanding, yet fun, so it doesn't feel like my student is back in school, but rather in a relaxed learning environment where they are free to make mistakes so they can learn better. I have various hobbies and interests, including reading, going to the gym, and watching sports, so I believe I have a variety of things I can relate to my students on, in order to build and maintain a rapport with them.

My name is Imad and I am currently on a gap year with a guaranteed place to study medicine at the University of Liverpool this year, having attended a grammar school prior. Tutoring has always been a passion of mine, and I have much experience tutoring in the last two years offering both a private service as well as tutoring friends and family through 11+, GCSE and A-level exams. In these two years, I have managed to perfect my teaching style to get the most out of my students. My teaching style is heavily interactive, placing emphasis on students finding answers on their own with my guidance for better understanding. In 2015, I took the 11+ exam, securing a place at all 5 grammar schools that I applied to. Eventually, I went on to attend King Edward VI Grammar School (KEGS). At GCSE level, I gained five grade 9's, four grade 8's and three grade 7's. This includes a grade 9 in all subjects that I tutor. At A-level, I gained A*, A*, A, B in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and EPQ.

Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic.
