Hi everyone! I am a current third year student studying French and Spanish at Durham University. I’ve been a tutor for about three years and enjoy sharing my passion for languages as well as other subjects with my students. I always try to make my sessions fun and interactive! I am a current student at Durham University studying French and Spanish. At A Level I studied French, Spanish and History and achieved A,A*,A*. I studied a variety of subjects at GCSE and received grades 7-9 in all of my subjects, including grade 9 in Spanish, History and English Literature.

Hello, I’m Shella L. Complito, a mathematics teacher with nearly three years of experience. I specialize in teaching students at the primary and high school levels, using the Singaporean teaching method, which focuses on deep conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. I’m passionate about making math accessible and enjoyable because I firmly believe that math isn’t as difficult as many perceive it to be. Often, it’s just a matter of shifting the mindset. I am dedicated to helping every student overcome their challenges and build confidence in their abilities. For me, teaching isn’t just about solving equations—it’s about fostering a love for learning and helping students realize that they are capable of achieving great things in math and beyond. I attended Universidad de Manila, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics. My specialization is in teaching math, with a focus on helping students at the grade school and high school levels develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts. I am passionate about making math more accessible and helping students overcome any difficulties they may face in the subject. Through my teaching, I aim to foster a positive mindset towards learning math, showing students that with the right approach, they can succeed.

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an MPhys physics degree in which I proudly achieved a first with honours. At heart I am inquisitive and hungry to learn, and I love to pass on what I've learnt to those around me. My passions are science (more specifically physics), gaming, exercise and learning as much as I can In general. My background is in physics, I achieved a MPhys physics degree with honours, my masters project was 'An Investigation into Gravitational Wave Interactions' in which I created models in Python to help predict the effects of gravitational waves on the orbits of the solar system and how the orbits of black holes; matching the later to real life data. I also took physics, mathematics and chemistry at A-level. My passion and background in physics helps make me a better tutor.

After university I worked at a secondary school on a graduate scheme with Step Into Teaching, working as a teaching assistant and running the school library. In this role I worked predominantly with KS3 students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, but I love working with KS4 students and building their knowledge in their subjects. In this role I have worked with SEN and ESL students. Shortly after this I went to Malaga, Spain to work as an au pair. While living with a Spanish family it was my repsonsiblity to teach English to two daughters, ages 11 and 14. I then worked as an English tutor in a secondary school through the National Tutoring Programme. In this role I worked with year 10 and year 11 students, helping them progress in GCSE English Literature and GCSE English Language. I have recently completed an MA in Education at University College London and am currently working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school. I support students in lessons and run GCSE English Literature and Language revision sessions for SEN students. I also support year 7, 8 and 9 students with phonics interventions. September 2025 I will be training as a secondary school English teacher. I'm passionate about building student's confidence in their subject alongside building their subject knowledge. Based on my own experience, I'm keen to help students become more confident in how they perform in exam conditions and maximise the application of their knowledge when under pressure. My favourite thing about working as a tutor is seeing students gradually become more confident in asking questions and the sense of achievement they feel when they have reached a certain target grade or a certificate or award in school.
