Hi! My name is Ruqayyah and I have a Psychology BSc degree from the University of Birmingham. I love to bake, read, listen to podcasts, and watch football in my free time. I provide lessons in Psychology, English, Biology and other subjects. I have experience tutoring Primary, Secondary and Sixthform students.

An experienced Mathematics teacher for more than 10 years now. Taught in both private and public schools. A private tutor both face-to-face and online. A skilled and trained encoder using MS Office and Google Docs and Sheets. A highly competent individual in organizing and managing files in emails and google drive.

Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing.

I’m a Geography student at the London School of Economics. When I’m not doing university work, I enjoy drawing, painting, and reading books. I love watching films, and ‘Coraline’ is a particular favourite of mine. Music is another passion of mine—I’m a big fan of Lana Del Rey, Radiohead, and Blur. I’m excited to share my love of learning and help others reach their academic goals!
