I am Hamdan Ahmed Sheikh, a medical student at Cardiff University tutoring GCSE students in the sciences and maths. I believe that the main role of tutoring is to cater to a student’s individual needs and my sessions will be planned with this in mind. We will work together to find areas of strength and improvement in your learning and work to address each of them so that you can get the best possible results in your exams. Having completed my A-level exams in June 2023, I am aware of the requirements of the current curriculum and the demands this places on a student. I also know that a student’s time is valuable and will keep classes on track with the lesson plans we create together to ensure that all the required content can be covered. As well as the scheduled sessions, I am open to communication outside of this time if you need help with any questions or need some advice on how to approach a topic. I hope to meet you soon so we can work together to make sure you achieve the grades you want. I have eight GCSEs which I completed in 2021. I have four A-levels in the following subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, and maths. I completed my A-levels in 2023 and am currently in my first year of completing a degree in medicine at Cardiff University.

I am a multi-instrumentalist. I play seven instruments and I love singing. I started playing the electronic organ when I was seven years old. I continued my musical education playing in the school orchestra and concert band. The Guthlaxton concert band travelled all over Britain performing in competitions. It was great fun! I have my own recording studio and have recorded some songs (on Spotify) . I really enjoy gardening , knitting and nature. I am a complete animal fanatic . Once , I wanted to be a wildlife photographer. I also enjoy swimming in the sea and going travelling to warm countries . The furthest i have travelled is to Sri Lanka where I saw fire flies and baby elephants. What an amazing experience. I believe music is a real gift and want to share this gift with other people. I have three grade 8 s with the ABRSM in clarinet, flute and piano . I also have a grade 5 alto saxophone grade too. I studied GCSE music , A level music and a degree in music . I have been teaching for twenty years in schools as a peripatetic music teacher. I have taught privately and online. I teach seven instruments including singing . I studied a diploma with the Open University also .

After a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpretation and a Master's in Conference Interpreting, I have been learning languages for years now and, in 2019, I decided to pass on to my students the language acquisition techniques that helped me when learning French, Russian, Arabic, Basque and English. I lived in Valencia, Donostia, Bilbao, Madrid and Huelva but I also lived in Bordeaux, Bergerac and Paris. I started teaching Spanish in the Spanish city of Vitoria (also known as the Basque Siberia) because I wanted to help the immigrants coming every year to start a new life in Spain. I found that the best way to help them was by teaching them Spanish so that they could communicate with others and build a brand-new life. In 2020, I started teaching and tutoring French and Spanish on digital learning platforms. Up until now, I have helped more than 90 people (all ages, students with SEND educational profiles, backgrounds and cultures) reach their goals onsite and online and have been translating, project managing and interpreting for 3 years!
