I'm an English tutor with over 7 years of experience mainly with young learners and kids. For the past two years I got the chance to be an online tutor for a company based in China. I am such a joyful and energetic person, in love with animals, able to meet deadlines , open to always consider new thoughts and wearing a big smile to spread happiness... But it's during my time at Manchester that, thanks to my amazing lecturers, I got passionate about teaching and I decided to become a tutor. I have an MA and PhD in Classics and Ancient History from The University of Manchester, and a background in Italian, English and Russian. In 2015, I completed my BA in English and Russian in Italy. During my MA and the first two years of my PhD, I was lucky enough to attend John Taylor’s classes in Latin and Classical Greek. Over the past five years, I have built my teaching experience both in the classroom and as a private tutor: I have successfully tutored students in Latin and Greek (both in Italy and in the UK) preparing for CE, GCSE, and A-Level examinations; I have taught Latin literature and Roman history to undergraduate students at Manchester University. I have also taught Latin and Classical Greek at the London Summer School in Classics (UCL), and Homeric Greek at the Summer School in Homer (UCL). In 2021, I was awarded an Associate Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. In 2022, I completed my PhD in Classics and Ancient History.

My name is Yan Lan and I am 19 years old. I am a student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, studying Financial Mathematics and Statistics. I have finished my first year and I am currently on a gap year. I have loved studying Mathematics since primary school and this interest in maths has made me want to study it further at university. I was born and raised in the UK but my ethnicity is Chinese. I have tutored many students before, since I was in Year 11 and love teaching and inspiring young students to also love Maths. I specialise particularly in GCSE maths (I did AQA exam board) and primary school students. I am currently doing a Bachelor of Science in Financial Mathematics and Statistics at LSE.
