Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I hope to guide and support other students in their personal academic goals, through a focus on exam technique, revision methods and coping with the potential stress that may arise during exam season, to help get the best out of each individual. I am a third-year English Literature student at the University of York, where my modules cover an expansive geographical and temporal range from Latin Literature and the Middle Ages, to the Renaissance and 20th Century American Literature. In my A-Levels, I achieved 3x A*s in English Literature, History and Latin. In my GCSEs, I achieved a grade 8 in Chemistry and a grade 9 in the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, History, Religious Studies and Computer Science.

I have several years experience of teaching English abroad and in the UK. This has included teaching within public and private schools teaching English as a foreign language, and English language and literature. I also have several years experience experience of tutoring privately and have had great results with my learners. I enjoy reading classic novels and thrillers and this has all contributed to my love of English. I have a law degree and have a Legal practice certificate. These qualifications have allowed me to teach learners Law at A level for law. In addition, I have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and a qualification for Assessing.

English GCSE - year 10&11 only Russian all levels I am an enthusiastic and devoted tutor. I am aware of different challenges that students face and I develop different strategies to help them to overcome them. There isn’t always an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive a lot of personal attention in the school classrooms, so I always encourage students to explain to me what they struggle with the most and which areas make the least sense, so they don’t go back to their school lessons still feeling confused and worried that they don’t understand something. In addition, I encourage them to think and analyse, I try to avoid giving answers, instead I help students find them themselves. I believe it’s such an important life skill. I consider each student’s strengths and weaknesses. I always strive to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in my online classroom. I build my relationship with everyone on mutual respect and trust. I prefer when students see me as a mentor, rather than a teacher, and I call our meetings “sessions”, rather than “lessons”. I graduated with a Mathematics degree from Lancaster University. I have experience tutoring from primary school to GCSE levels and pupils preparing for the 11+ exams. I currently also work as a coach in a number of primary and secondary schools; therefore, I have gained extensive experience teaching and working with children. I am a very patient and approachable person who tries to conduct tutorial lessons in a fun and interactive manner, allowing pupils to develop an interest in maths and absorb complicated subjects more efficiently. I did Maths and addiation Maths at GCSE level and I did Maths and Further Maths in my A Levels. I went to school in King Edward VI Grammar School in Stratford upon Avon. I also went to do BSc Mathematics at Lancaster University. I also have a DBS certificate for working with children.
