**SSH** Hi, I'm Sophie (she/her) ! I'm currently studying English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield, and I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 2 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. My goal in becoming a tutor is to do my best to help you achieve your personal goals, whether you're aiming to simply pass a class or achieve the highest grade possible. Our sessions will be focussed around how to achieve your best- everyone's 'best' is different, but yours is what matters to me. Outside of studying, I am usually found relaxing and having a giggle with my friends, curled up with a good book (my favourites are usually fantasy or romances) and a cup of coffee, or dancing! I've also been vegan for three years and a huge animal lover.

My hobbies include Art and Design, watching films with my family, outings, crafts, cooking and baking, painting, and computer games. I enjoy swimming, netball, rounders and going to the gym. I love many different genres of Films and TV programs - however, a few of my favourites include Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, and The Crown just to list a small selection. I enjoy quizzes and board games too. My favourite place in the UK is the Lake District. I have been to many overseas countries and enjoyed them all, I would love to go to America to travel - I would also just like to travel more in general! I enjoy all manner of subjects, especially those that I can really get stuck into and research further. I have experience working with SEN pupils and have spent my career in this field for the past 5 years. I am up for any challenge and would love to help any young mind develop and shine.

I am an experienced maths teacher/ lecturer. Currently, I work in a training centre, prior to this I have worked in a FE college for more than 6 years, teaching GCSE and functional skills maths. I have also taught ESL to adult groups. I have the experience teaching face to face and online using different platforms. I always worked with children with Special Educational needs from different back grounds. In addition, I worked in primary school supporting year 6 learners to build their maths skills to pass their SATs, before that I was teaching Arabic and Tajweed rules age of 5yrs up to adults.

I'm into playing chess and quizzing, though I'm not fantastic at either, and really enjoy film watching and try to keep up with all the latest releases. I also enjoying keeping up to date with the news when I get the chance to see the latest developments in politics in both domestic and international spheres I went to Crowstone Preparatory School for Primary and then passed my eleven plus, going to Southend High School For Boys, a languages based grammar school in Essex. I then studied for my GCSEs, getting 9s in English Literature, English Language, History, Drama, Religious Studies, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, getting an 8 in Maths, A in ICT and a 6 in German. Following this I took four A-levels, getting A* in English, History, Politics, and Religious Studies. Finally, I applied to Oxford for a degree in History and Politics, focusing on the history, contemporary politics, and the international relations of the Middle East, upon which I also wrote my thesis. In 2023 I graduated with a 2:1 from Oxford University
