My name is Sheryl, a TEFL-certified educator with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Education. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in English Language Education (MAELE). I specialize in teaching English across all levels—Basic, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. My expertise includes Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Grammar, Business English, Conversational English, English for Academic Purposes, and Reading Comprehension. I also offer homework-based lessons to provide additional support and reinforce learning outside the classroom. With six years of experience in teaching English as a second language, I have worked with students of all ages, from primary school to tertiary levels. I am an undergraduate student, studying English at University of Nottingham. I have experience with both young children and teenagers, and enjoy both making learning fun, and helping young people meet their full potential! I'm friendly and proactive, and have experience working with children with a variety of needs. Most importantly, I believe learning should be suited to the student, not the teacher! I enjoy writing during my free-time, particularly for Nottingham's student publication, and working with young people - whether through sports teams, after-school clubs, or tutoring. I studied at a state comprehensive school in London, where I achieved 10 A*'s-B's at GCSE - including a B in Maths, A's in Science, and A's in both English Language and Literature - and A's and B's at A-Level. I'm currently an undergraduate student studying English, the subject where my strengths most definitely lie. I previously studied in London while working full-time, and am interested in pursuing a TEFL to teach young people English as a second-language.

Initially, I spent almost a decade working as a customer service representative for an international company. In this role, I had the opportunity to interact with clients who were native English speakers from the United States and Canada. This experience not only honed my communication skills but also allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of cultural nuances and how to provide exceptional service in a global context. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time in customer service, I realized that my true passion lies in teaching. I decided to pivot my career and pursue what I love most—helping students understand and appreciate the beauty of mathematics. I am currently a public school Mathematics teacher, where I strive to create an engaging and dynamic learning environment for my students. In addition to my teaching role, I volunteer every Sunday in a free tutorial program, where I help students outside of the classroom strengthen their math skills.
