My name is Arcel, and I’m 29 years old. I'm a Math teacher but I can also teach Science (Biology & Chemistry) and Sociology. I like also playing basketball and guitar—two activities that allow me to express myself creatively and stay active. Whether it’s on the basketball court or playing my favorite songs, I enjoy the challenge and the connections these hobbies bring. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, Majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math), and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Teaching Mathematics. My journey in education is driven by my passion for mathematics and my desire to help students see the beauty in the subject. I am a dedicated and passionate maths tutor who has experience for over 4 years in tutoring for SATS, GCSE and A-level students. I have an effective way of explaining key concepts clearly to student’s in an engaging and collaborative manner. My patience and experience allow me to adapt easily to the student’s needs. I tailor each lesson to the student’s specific needs who often have varying learning paces and styles. I am supportive, students are encouraged to ask questions, not only during lessons but throughout the week. I currently have a mixture of students, with varying abilities between year 6 and year 11. I am currently studying Money, Banking, and Finance as a final-year student at the University of Birmingham. I've secured A* in Economics and Psychology, and an A in Maths at A-levels. Additionally, I attained all 7,8,9s in my GCSEs, showcasing excellence in subjects like Maths and Business Studies. I currently have a mix of students between year 6 and year 11.

I hold First Class degrees in Literature and Linguistics (BA Hons) and Contemporary Literature (MA). I specialise in twentieth and twenty-first-century Literature, English Language and Linguistics, Theory of Mind, and Neurolinguistics. My current research interests are consciousness studies at the intersection between the humanities and the sciences, using literary fiction to represent modes of cognition.
