Hi, I'm Phila-Mae Arcenal, a TEFL-certified teacher with nearly six years of experience, including three years of online teaching. One of my most rewarding experiences has been tutoring a Korean student since she was seven—now at 13, we cover English and other school subjects. Teaching is my passion, and I love creating engaging lessons that help students grow and succeed. Each interaction is a chance to learn and make a positive impact on my students’ education. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduating with Latin honors in 2017. Building on this foundation, I pursued and completed my Juris Doctor degree in 2022. This academic journey from political science to law reflects my commitment to understanding and advocating within legal and societal frameworks. My background in political science has provided a deep awareness of governance and societal structures, while my legal education has equipped me with the skills to navigate, analyze, and influence these frameworks. This blend of disciplines not only strengthens my expertise but also fuels my dedication to making a meaningful impact in the legal field.

GCSE: English Literature, English Language, History A Level: English Literature, English Language, History Exam Board experience: AQA, OCR, Edexcel Languages: English, Norwegian Other Subject Knowledge/ Experience: Religious studies, Sociology, Politics I am a second year English Literature and Religious Studies student at the University of Edinburgh with a great deal of tutoring experience. I am an avid reader and in my spare time I enjoy doing ballet, watching films with my friends, creative writing and playing with my cat.

GCSE: Chemistry, Biology A-level: Psychology Experience with: AQA exam board / medical school exams / 11+ tutoring Preferred age group: 10-16 I enjoy baking and learning to cook new dishes from different cuisines. I like to read in my spare time and go on hikes with my family/ I am a medical student and have had past experience with tutoring in GCSE subjects and mentoring aspiring medical students with their applications. Through my own experience, I am aware of how challenging exams can be but have learnt exam techniques and ways to creatively revise and I hope to be able to spread my knowledge to help more students in achieving their best potential!

I'm a student studying English Literature & History at Cardiff University. My main passion is theatre and the wonderful world of performance art! Alongside my extensive history of acting and directing I have been studying English and History for almost 7 years.
