After a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpretation and a Master's in Conference Interpreting, I have been learning languages for years now and, in 2019, I decided to pass on to my students the language acquisition techniques that helped me when learning French, Russian, Arabic, Basque and English. Here goes one: make the impossible to surround yourself with a Spanish or Hispanic environment (tutors, friends, relatives, news... > culture will boost your motivation to continue learning). I lived in Valencia, Donostia, Bilbao, Madrid and Huelva but I also lived in Bordeaux, Bergerac and Paris. I started teaching Spanish in the Spanish city of Vitoria (also known as the Basque Siberia) because I wanted to help the immigrants coming every year to start a new life in Spain. I found that the best way to help them was by teaching them Spanish so that they could communicate with others and build a brand-new life. In 2020, I started teaching and tutoring French and Spanish on digital learning platforms. Up until now, I have helped more than 90 people (all ages, students with SEND educational profiles, backgrounds and cultures) reach their goals onsite and online and have been translating, project managing and interpreting for 3 years! Hi, I'm Cilla and I'm a final year medical student studying at the University of Leicester. I pride myself for having an understanding and empathetic student-focused approach to teaching. As a student, I know how terrifying exams can be. I hope with my help, my students can learn to tackle exam questions in a calm, collected manner. Academic achievements: At A-level I achieved all A’s in AQA Biology, AQA Chemistry and AQA Maths with an A* in an EPQ. At GCSE I achieved 11 GCSEs all 9-7, with all 8/9 in AQA Maths, AQA Chemistry and AQA Biology. I have experience taking the 11+ myself having gone to a grammar school for both secondary school and sixth form.
