Hello! I’m an experienced English Language and Literature tutor and an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher with over five years of teaching experience. For the past three years, I’ve also successfully prepared students for the 11+ exam. I hold a First Class Honours BA in English and American Literature from the University of Kent, Canterbury, and a TESOL certification from Arizona State University. Currently, I’m working on my master’s thesis in Educational Studies at KU Leuven University in Belgium. Personal Interests: I’m an avid reader and love writing poetry in my spare time. I enjoy staying active and trying out new hobbies—right now, I’m getting into cross training. At home, I’m kept company by two friendly and playful cats! Hi! My name is Luke, I study Chemistry at the University of Oxford and I offer teaching in Mathematics and Chemistry. I have just finished my first year at Oxford having achieved a distinction in Chemistry (which contains a huge Mathematics course). I have had numerous hours of experience with a wide range of ages and I have taught A-level, GCSE and KS2.

I’m an experienced tutor currently studying Economics in my first year at university. I am passionate and committed to helping students advance in their learning. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help students excel in their exams. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. My style of teaching is adaptable, catering to diverse learning styles and individual needs. I strive to make difficult concepts understandable to ensure my students grasp the material thoroughly. I am confident in my abilities to teach subjects such as Maths and Physics to the age groups of primary up until GSCE level, having experience with exam boards such as AQA and Edexcel. Languages: I can speak conversational Bengali and fluent English. I obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering with First Class Honours at the undergraduate level, and look forward to studying a postgraduate course in MSc Advanced Chemical Engineering with Energy at the University of Birmingham. Things I like to do in my spare time include training regularly at the gym because I am a massive fan of fitness, and I have a guilty pleasure of watching anime shows (which are NOT cartoons :D ) and watching Formula 1. And a weird thing about me is that I go by another name (Nahid) which my friends and family call me, but you can be my friend also so you call me what you find easy to remember :) I received a Grade B in Chemistry, C in Maths and C in Physics at A-Level, which allowed me to be accepted onto a course I really enjoyed in Chemical Engineering BEng at Aston University. At GCSE, Maths and Science were my favourite subjects and I achieved Grade A's for both of these subjects and a Grade B in Further Maths.
