Hi! I am Lyka Anne I. Gabuat, I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree, specializing in Teaching Mathematics to middle school and high school students. For 6 years, I have taught math courses to senior high school students, specifically Calculus, Statistics and Probabilities and General Mathematics. I also have a short but extensive experience teaching IB, A-level and IGCSE math’ through an after-school program in China. At present, I am an online private tutor catering students who are struggling in mathematics. At present, I’m a freelance private math tutor. I like to see my students have fun as they learn new ideas and concepts. I believe that every student is unique, and it's our responsibility as educators to nurture their individual strengths and help them reach their full potential. I graduated from University of Baguio, Philippines last may of 2016 and got my teaching license the same year. I worked in the same University from August 2016 - December 2022 as Senior High School math teacher. I went to China in the following year to tutor International students and come back for personal reasons. At the moment, I'm a freelance Math tutor catering primary school to senior high school students thru online and face-to-face platform. I am also a unit earner (25 units) in Masters in Education Major in Mathematics. In addition, I have B2 level Certificate in International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

I have a Bachelor of Education degree intermediate and senior phase, I did my honours in Inclusive Education and I have 180hour TEFL certificate. I teach in English as this is my first and native language. I am a passionate and experienced teacher. Both in the classroom and online. I have taught children with barriers to learning. I have taught primary subjects such as Maths, English, Natural Sciences, Biology, History and Geography as well as life orientation/life skills. During my studies, I actively participated in research projects and practical applications, further enhancing my teaching skills. My educational background enables me to simplify complex topics and tailor lessons to students’ needs.

I am a first-year student at the University of Liverpool studying International Relations. I went to school in Birmingham and studied History, English Literature and Economics A-level. I have a strong interest in the humanities, especially politics. I went to a Grammar school for my secondary and sixth form education so I have specific knowledge of the 11+ exam.
