Hello, I’m Ambrin, an experienced tutor with several years of expertise in teaching a variety of subjects to UK students across different age groups, up to A-level. I have a first-class bachelor’s degree in philosophy and classics from The Open University, where I studied a wide range of topics such as ethics, metaphysics, logic, ancient history, literature, and culture. I am currently studying a Philosophy MA at Birkbeck University. I have always been intellectually driven and have experience in learning efficiently and effectively. My teaching style is enthusiastic, explorative, and attentive. I aim to inspire my students to discover the beauty and relevance of English Literature and Language and to help them develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. I tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of each student, and I provide them with detailed feedback and guidance. I teach English, as well as Philosophy and Ancient Languages, at various levels, from beginners to intermediate and have a strong knowledge of GCSE and A level Syllabi. I believe that learning can be not only intellectually rewarding, but also enjoyable. I use a variety of resources and methods to make my lessons engaging and interactive, such as games, quizzes, videos, podcasts, key texts, and images. I also encourage my students to express their own opinions and perspectives, and to engage in lively discussions with me and with each other. I have been working as a tutor as part of the National Tutoring Scheme for the past year. In that time, I have been consistently praised for my creative, engaging and understanding approach to tuition. I have also completed a Teach First course in a Further Education environment, in which I shadowed experienced teachers, learnt about effective teaching practice, and presented my own lesson to senior educators to rave reviews. I am a first year optometry student at the University of Manchester. Having recently completed college, my knowledge is current with the academic syllabus, and I am looking forward to assisting students in enhancing their academic achievements by teaching them using various methods and tricks. I have experience assisting children in schools who require support, and I consistently adapt my approach to meet their individual needs, striving to provide the best assistance possible.

I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. I moved to Ireland when I was 12 years old. I love Maths and English, but I decided to study Science in college. I love reading classic novels, writing funny stories, and watching Korean dramas. I enjoy travelling, cooking Asian foods and making my friends laugh. I look forward to helping more students!
